Updated Asgardian Steed

Here (Info submissions thanks to In Media Res)

This is the thread in which to discuss comparisons between the new items and others. Unlike guide-like threads created via Comparison Posting you are not required to lay out comparisons in a formal manner in here. But remember - because you'll have read the forum rules of course - do not ask questions here like "what's best for me" / "which is the better weapon" - this is not a Question & Answer forum. Nor is it a general game discussion forum. Only post if you have something useful and relevant to add / discuss.

Threads created via the Comparison Posting forum (which then get moved to this Equipment Comparison forum once approved) normally remain on a permanent basis, whereas this =AQ= one is likely to be allowed to expire.

looks good, but if you want to attack Energy monsters in an Energy armour, you could also just use Asgardian

the damage multiplier for Asgardian can get as high as: 1.25 (sp skill) x 1.2 (mjollnir fsb)= 1.5 against monsters with atleast some STR. And you do not have to worry for the weaker Paralyze attack (but some people might enjoy it). Besides, you won't be stuck using Energy weapons in Asgardian (but you'll lose some of the damage bonus)

EleComp is the same for all versions
The result is 1.478

Which means that at 100% EM, there's an about equal chance to paralyse for 1 or 2 turns
From 135% EM onwards, there's a chance to paralyse for 3 turns
And at 202% EM, that's almost a guaranteed 3-turn stun, assuming my maths were correct
These number are for warriors, mages paralyse for less turns because the 1.478 have to be multiplied by 3/4

Really good item for bow users.
They don't have to deal with the element lock and it has 5 more melee defence then Megingjord.
The only difference being of course the ability to boost your bow damage with Megingjord.

Shiba, that's why eleComp is there - so it deals roughly the same damage on appropriate level Energy monster as any other Energy Armor would (with the same lean). Both items have different abilities at that so it's matter of preference. Paralyze isn't a weak status either so y'know. One could forgoe the Water weapon since it wouldn't make much difference, with exception for a Special.

This armor is pretty impressive. I think that the paralyzation can work with energy monsters too, which makes this extra awesome.

This armour looks awesome and has fast attacking animation. It looks like that this armour could be a possible replacement for Algern's Carapace or perhaps if your armour inventory works out, you can have both armors which are good. Overall, it hits high even though it is element-locked to energy and plus it has a chance of paralyzing.

I would really want to see some evidence (mathematical proofs) on this. If the eleComp is 1.56400 for the L150 Steed, that would require a minimum of 67% energy EM for the Steed's attacks to match an element of 100%.

That's up to the way in which standard monsters are statted by the Staff. I'm saying what was said by IMR in Info Subs - it assumes you're fighting an Energy monster hence the given eleComp, but that doesn't stop you from fighting other monsters (different Element) in the Steed. The main reason there's such a gap between Frogzilla's and Steed's eleComp and AC's.

Whether this is the truth, I don't know. I don't really know a basic monster lately since they were predictable before (the same resistance just switched around).

Like any ele-lock armor, I LOVE this. Let's me abuse the hell out of my Giant Killer/Witch Waster combo.

The Question

^ Ah, that is still in question. Ele-lock are supposed to not take any other form of damage multiplier (I Think IIRC). Or that it was triggers that it was negating. Witch-Waster trigger might just be negated by that..

Pretty sure Ele-lock doesn't negate a trigger like GK/WW. Ele-lock negates something like KuBrush, which gets a damage bonus due to random elements. The conditions of that damage boost are overridden by Ele-lock, thus Ele-lock also negates the damage boost that would otherwise apply. Things like BtH modifiers, triggers (damage-wise), *1.09 due to 0% proc, etc still fall through.
