I'm doing the Huge Timetorn Matrix quest and guess what, I WANT TO DIE. I've been sitting in my chair for hours while suffering just to get ONE item... I could write a book of this nightmare of a quest, I want to quit but I'm close to the end. Now I know what Nietszche meant by "God is dead"...

I got over 280k exp in the huge one (~400 fights out of the potential 999) before I broke and decided to try another time.
I haven't been so frustrated since the fight with Dr. When first came out, and I had no DA. That only shows that this challenge really serves its purpose.

I used DMKv1 with escelense blade shown over lvl 95 soulforged sword. This combination made everything much easier (fights are won in 1 turn with either Break or Blood Rite, or Spikes vs multiple enemies, potions can be restored with Favor, Taunt ahead to kill mimics with Vengeance). But even so, the quest is looooong.

Hmm, this new challenge is gonna require me to up my game again. But ah'm sleepy!

Anyhow, one thing though, it's probably more complicated to do that, but instead of switching elements on the weapon, why not just make it dual Evil/Ice in order to differentiate it from Isandel and the Dreadwyrm Katana? Making them different, yet giving you a reason to do this challenge anyway.

I mean, Bacon or whatever is fine, depends on the amount of work necessary to make it thematically appropriate.

....you have to be kidding me. i spent 8 hours in this maze, and it's only a medium one, not even huge, and i have to re-do it because my pet dragon's turn froze and the unstick button won't show up?!?!? i had even hit level 72 and was 20% of the way to 73!

Cool release! I started off with 'huge' just for the challenge of it and I have to say, it wasn't as hard or time-consuming as I thought it would be based on others' posts. Riftwalker + switching elements with UDASoE + Guest Dragon (200 protection) made it that much easier. Breezed through each battle at a rate of 2 to 3 battles a minute. Ended up completing the whole thing in a little less than two hours. (No definite time since I paused the game for awhile to do something else) Although, I think I got lucky as my total EXP earned was 230k as compared to some screenshots I've seen. I've noticed a bug as well with the mimics. It seems the reward chest is visible and accessible before you even fight the Mimic. So I managed to grab some Teleshards without needing to fight it for them. (The image of the chest appears over the Mimic and I access it when approaching the Mimic instead of fighting the Mimic first)

Edit 2: Another not-so-helpful tip to help other players would be this: dead ends. Since the maze is so big, identifying where possible dead ends are can speed up your search since dead ends are usually found along with chests, the boss and healing pads. If you've searched up a good portion of the maze by going from branch to branch with no luck so far, you can pretty much identify where the branch you missed would lead to a dead end. But then again, drawing a map would make things much easier. In my attempt, I just used my intuition and memory and stayed away from early dead ends because I assumed the map was made in such a way that it prevented bosses from being located near the start. I assumed so because if the boss was located near the beginning it would stunt the shape of the maze (you can pretty much notice it if it happens) since it would mean an early dead end. Coupled with the assumption that every single square or coordinate on the grid could be reached, it seems far more likely that the boss is located further away from the starting square than otherwise.

From looking some just slug through without using the pet dragon/pets/guests and get stuck on the challenge boss to get lost.

Medium is cleared, with 110k experience earned (not that it matters when you've reached the cap and likely have enough for level 86 when it does arrive). That was long, I'm definitely taking a break for now.

The Huge maze is pretty crazy, but doable. Though, you may be a bit burned out on DF afterward, like I am.

My only issue with this release is that this isn't a challenge; it's just tedious. It's not difficult, it's not strategic, it's just a long, drawn out maze. I feel like that's a wasted opportunity, but that's just me.

WOOHOO! 8 hours and a 90% completed map and I finally found the boss of the Third Timetorn Matrix!

I can finally sleep, forever.

[Edit] Verly, if you're reading this, please never make a challenge like this again. I can't feel my hands from all the emergency map making I had to do. My body can't take it.

That's what happened with the first 50% of my Large run. It makes keeping track of yourself easier, but it would take a miracle for you to find the boss anytime soon when you have minimal dead-ends.

So this nightmare is finally over.
The bad news, that one-shard-per-dungeon bug basically cost me 10 timeshards, so that wasn't very fun.

EDIT: Oh, and apparently the badge didn't even unlock for me. Lovely.

No, it is a challenge. It's just a challenge in a different way. It's not DIFFICULT, that's true. The challenge is testing your patience, basically.
