So, we discuss elementals during the previous week, and we get an elemental dungeon in return.

By the way, will completed runs count towards the badge prior to its implementation?

After foolishly trying to do the Huge without a map and just brain power, I finally gave up 3 hours into my first attempt after running through the same rooms over and over again. Second attempt took me about 5 hours to beat. Didn't find it necessary to map out the whole thing, just connect junction rooms, and terminate branching paths once I reached the end.

And by the looks of images uploaded, seems I had the worst luck. Oh well. At least I got the badge so I'm done with this fun nightmare.

^hm. my map is a bit different than yours(i don't mean the layout, that's a given). while you did a line, i do it by crossing out boxes(one diagonal line to represent the fact that i've gone through a path, and in the case of split paths, two to mark the fact that i backtracked to where the two paths originated to say that the first path is no good).

The bacon element, at least to me, feels kind of... out of place?

I like the ebil idea, but what about silver? I don't think we have many (or any) lvl 85 silver weapons. Also it kind of fits the the"paragon" aspect, since silver is a symbol of elegance/excellence.

Just my two cents :)

EDIT: Just remembered the Spear of Lumina and Mooncaller Scimitar... But still!

silver definitely doesn't make sense, since Necro Paragons are soldiers in Dage's legion of evil, who all either use indead, ARE undead themselves, or both. silver is effectively poison to them, so them using a silver weapon would be weird.

ebil can at least be headcannoned to that particular necro paragon defecting from dage and allying with zorbak. and bacon is kind of the ultimate placeholder element aside from ???, you can realistically see any class utilizing either of those two elements.

Ah I see. I didn't know silver directly hurt undead. I thought that was just werewolves... Perhaps it could be headcanoned by them using silver to control the undead (Kind of like how DmK v2 corruption hits undead really hard)?

But bacon just seems weird. I can see why chickencows use bacon, but Necro Paragon soldiers? Maybe ??? would even be a good alternative.

I still think either make it Evil and change Dreadwyrm Katana to metal or silver OR make it switchable between Ice and Evil. Those two really fit it for me. Ebil always felt like a joke element to me, even more so than bacon.

It's not really good form to go and change the elements of released weapons. At the time the elements were changed on the Soulblade, no one had it, so it was still doable.
Especially since one of the items is non-DA, and one is not. The non-DA players would get shafted out of an Evil element weapon.

I'm trying to play the huge one.

40 or 50 rooms in and I already want to die. This is the cruelest thing AE has ever put in DragonFable.

I didn't think of it at the time, but one element that would work well, and be more thematic, would be disease.

I kinda lost all drive to finish when it was changed from ice to bacon. Bacon just isn't a very useful element compared to ice.

Terrible luck, I ended up doing 986 rooms before finding the boss. And, seeing 549,191 Exp and 20,256 Gold on the completion screen was a bit funny. It took forever and my emotions ranged quite a bit, but overall I would say it was fun.

edit: Oh, but I don't look forward to doing it on my other 2 characters

Ok, I am ALL up for 1000 room dungeons, but if you are going to be that evil staff we need a in game map in all such dungeons ((Including this one added in later), even if it just shows places you already discovered so you don't repeat. That's a lot of drawing to not get lost. DX

And preferably add it to all other dungeons too so I can look at the 100 room dungeon's descriptions of no map and it being the biggest in game dungeon and laugh.

Also save points need to work like checkpints in the larger dungeons. Because getting to the 999th room and losing all that progress to a Mimic? Not fun.

My strategy of using the Fill Colour function of Excel to keep track of my progress almost worked; I think I just filled in too many cells at once and kept losing track. I'll try it again tomorrow.

For anyone wondering just how big the 1000 room dungeon is, this might give some idea. And that's just 498 rooms of it. Wrote a little NetLogo program to help me keep track.

I did it though! And thankfully only had to go through half. What a challenge! Really fun stuff, feels nice to have conquered it.

Oh, I had completed the Huge Timetorn Matrix without trying to draw a map of the areas I had covered; I had only gotten lost twice. ;D

One thing I must say is that the Doomed Scythe of Elementals has made these runs of a huge and then medium dungeon MUCH, MUCH, MUCH (et al.) faster than otherwise.

Having an adaptable weapon for every fight was a straight up boon.

Using the eternally-resourceful Rage Dragonlord, the dungeons weren't challenges as much as time-wasters.
