What has my interest is that he has also, it appears, retained some of his Doom Knight powers (not sure if this is due to his armor fusing to his body or something else) without his mind being given over to the Shadowscythe. I knew that, canonically, wearing this armor makes the wearer a virtual puppet for the will of the Shadowscythe, but isn't Seppy now a walking exception and example? The armor didn't "fuse with him". It grew out of him. That's why he doesn't have any skin now. And his mind had been given over to the Shadowscythe, long before we had even met him. The only reason his mind is currently free right now, is because he no longer has the weapon consuming it(which is also the entire reason he had become a doom knight in the first place, because he had the weapon). As such, yes, he is indeed an example. However, he's not an example of possible exceptions, he's an example of how there are no exceptions. Not even the hero. Given enough time, the hero's canonical Doom Weapon will consume them as well, and there is no way around that, except for getting rid of said weapon. quote:
Valen/Sep Retains some of DoomKnight Power, Because he absorbed all Doomed Essence in our Dragon after Calamity's Defeat. Other way around.
