Welcome to the Gallery Q&A forum! Here you'll find plenty of guides to the digital arts made by others, but here are some helpful tips to follow when making your own:

When submitting a tutorial, always make sure it's your own work.
Plagiarizing is against the forum's rules and is also frowned upon by the GFX community.

Specify the name and version of the program in the title that the tutorial requires.
(Ex: "[GIMP] How to Brush" or "[PS CS2] Cannon Blast Effect")

Make sure the tutorial has not already been submitted.
Refer to the Tutorial Directory by Acolytic in advance to make sure that yours will be original in content.

All steps should be easily legible/readable.
Assume your audience has NO previous graphical experience. (Try to avoid using "leet speak." Grammar and punctuation really do help.)

Include images of the steps to go along with the text.
Tutorials are so much easier to follow if the audience has a general handle on what should be the desired outcome.

Be sure to give credit where credit is due.
Remember though, the tutorial should be your own work. Getting help for a step or two is ok, but you shouldn't copy the entire thing.

Hopefully these guidelines should get you all on your way to making quality tutorials.
If you have any questions, feel free to send a PM to Grafh, iChar, Nicky, or VampireHSS.

Graphics Tutorial Directory

Due to the large amounts of tutorials and other resources that members give to the Gallery, this is no longer undated.

To make it easier for everyone, you can pull up all tutorials and resources yourself.

To do this, you need to change the Viewing Filters of the Gallery Q&A. The following is how to go about this.

When on the Gallery Q&A page, you will see the Filter look like this:

Now to view all the Tutorials and Resources, change the filter to look like the following:

That will pull up all the FAQed threads in the Gallery Q&A area. All tutorials and Resources are tagged FAQed to prevent them from being deleted and make them easy to find.

Thanks
Grafh

Common Questions

How do I add fonts to "_____"?
To add fonts to any program you are using, click on one of the following links based on your Operating System.

How to I add a link to my sig?
To add a link to your sig, or another image. The forums use the following format.
[link=LINK TO WEBSITE][img]YOUR IMAGE[/img][/link]

I downloaded "_____", and its a WinRAR file.
You need to download WinRAR, its like WinZIP that you already have, but just a different program.

You can get it here. http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10007677.html (Free Program)

What font does Adventure Quest use?
AQ uses a font called " Black Chancery", which can be downloaded from DaFont.

Where can I get a "AE character, item" template?
Sadly you are going to have to make your own. Game templates are not released to the public.
