I noticed that my RMXP Q&A Thread was deleted (or moved). Would the mod who did this please tell me why?

The Forum Feedback would be the best place to ask. This area deals with the GOCA and Digital Arts area only.

i have a new question,

why is my signature so small i made the dimensions 100 pixels high by 500 wide and it gave me something this small

Very odd. I would re upload it on photobucket. Sometime it will do that. Make sure the image is under 50kb.

Question.

Are you allowed to post topics with signatures, smileys, etc on the gallery of creative adventurers section? I have a smiley i wanna get rated.

For sigs, see the Digital Arts area. And if you want to start a gallery for your smiliey in the GoCA area that is ok.

Thank you Grafh

Question

How do i make the background transparent on a render (found one I like on a site mentioned in the forum) ?? Do I have to use one of the lasso tools in PS to select the main part of the image, then invert to get the baground selected, then make it transparent ? I was hoping there was an easier way.

I guess I could just find another render that already has a transparent background

You can find renders that already have a transparent BG (hint: they are png files). www.gamerenders.com is one place. To render your own, the lasso tool is your best bet.

EDIT: Thanks...I found some images that I liked, and used the lasso tool....almost finished my first sig. Just need to work out hw to blend the image into my bg, but that's covered in the tut I'm following...thanks again for you asistance

ok, i am making a gif animation using gimp. one of the layers gets all messed up whenever i put it in. any way to fix it?

One don't post in big red letters. Two, read some tuts. www.gimptalk.com might be your best bet. I never used GIMP. More tuts can be found here, look in the tut area. http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=3944228

how do u get somthing written under ur name?

quote:

Questions about custom titles/avatars
Only Admins/Mods/AKs, those with Helpful or Creative titles, and the occasional contest winner can get the ability to upload custom avatars or have a custom title. How do you get a title? NOT by asking for one, and not by asking to be an AK/Mod (see 3 questions above). Involvement on the forums, no rule breaking, creativity ... this MAY eventually get you a Helpful or Creative title. But don't actively seek it. Most people who get a Helpful/Creative title have it come as quite a surprise.

That quote can be found here: http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=4767995

I have a problem in all my drawings, if I am looking at a picture I can draw it almost exactly the same(not tracing). But when I don't look at a picture my mind just becomes blank when trying to draw a character. For some reason all those circles, and lines (perportions) don't seem to help me. Drawing books and most internet tips don't help as I just basically remember how to draw it and not actually how to make it. (If you can understand what I'm trying to say) And by a miracle if I am able to get a great body and head/face, I mess the whole drawing up with the facial features. So my question is, is there anykind of practice or system you go buy in your drawings? (By The Way, I already know how to do shading so that won't be a factor)
Thank You,
Joshua

what does uploading do(does it permanitly put the pic on computer)?

If you mean on the forums, I don't trust it. If you want to show off an image, use www.photobucket.com

I have seen alot of people posting ideas for wepons (as have I) and armors and other stuff like that on the suggestion boards. I have browsed at a couple of the such as the Blinding Slayer. I took a look at the picture of it and it looked really cool and I was wondering if there was any way of making mine look like that (my post is 'idea for new wepon'). I have done it on paint but it doesn't look very good. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

You might want to try using another paint program other then MS Paint. Here are a few links for you.

I have a question, where can I get a site to make videos of me playing and like to add sound and stuff like that?

Do you mean like a camcorder? As to where you can post home made videos, I don't know, try searching google, I know you can, but I don't know how.

First time being here, I have a question: Do I request signatures to be made in Digital Art and Signatures forum? And can I request in any one of the threads?

Look for a thread with the word "shop" in it. They take sig requests. Do not make a request thread. The Digital Art and Signatures forum is the place to look.

Thank you!

Sorry if these questions are answered somewhere else, I couldn't seem to find the thread...

Are drawings done using a Wacom tablet considered "hand-drawn"? The digital art gallery seems more for image manipulation than creation. If I wanted to get a gallery in the hand-drawn section of GoCA, should it be only pencil/paper drawings? I prefer to use my tablet since it's easier to organize my sketches and I don't have to scan anything.

Also, what would be the best way to start a hand-drawn gallery? Should I post in the main section and then PM a mod to move it?

Thanks!
Erica

I'll have to see if I can get ahold of J about the Wacom tablet, but I'm leaning to yes. Post your gallery in the GoCA for the time being (in order to post in the Hand-drawn area, your gallery must be moved by J of myself). I'll PM you about the Wacom tablet, once I have more info. Do your gallery and I'll take a look. Good luck.

I've got a question. The rules say that the maximum sig filesize is 50kb, and 1kb is 1024 bytes, so are our sigs allowed to have 51200 bytes or 50000 bytes?

51200

Grafh what say if they were not naked but some were in swim wear, or say could i put warning or such to say that this is for mature persons only or what ever?

Just remove the swim wear. As for a warning "for mature persons" only. A warning like that will not work. All things on the forums must be PG-13 only.

Sorry for asking the same kind of question again, but he rules say that the maximum sig filesize is 10kb (I think), and 1kb is 1024 bytes, so are our sigs allowed to have 10240 bytes or 10000 bytes? (I know I can't upload avvys but I'm thinking about PMing an admin with avvies to be uploaded)

Max sig size is 50kb. Max avatar size is 10kb. This link will help you with figuring out kbs to bytes. http://www.onlineconversion.com/computer_base2.htm

hi, i'm having trouble with my sig. When i load it up into the box it cuts off the last bracet on the line of code, thus making it show just text. Is there any way to fix this? Please help if you can, I'll add my sig to show what i'm talking about better.

Sadly there is a max character limit in the sig box. One of your images had to go. Or rename them with a smaller name.~Grafh

Thanks.

I was trying to find some good Tutorials for GIMP. I have recently got it and cannot find it.

Well you might want to check around the Gallery Q&A and Digital Arts areas. There are links for tuts in the stickies.

After reading through Dame Arya Starchaser's post "Rules of Engagement for Legends and Lore", one of the rules (as shown below) brings a great question to mind.

quote:

5. Stories must be related to AdventureQuest.
While you may write in settings or environments that are outside of the world of AdventureQuest proper it is presumed that any writing that occurs within the Legends and Lore boards forms the fiction of Lore. Thus they should be demonstrably connected to Lore in some way. This means that you should not be writing in styles or genres that would be totally unfamiliar to the average citizen of AdventureQuest. Nor should you be referencing places or objects that are not connected with Lore.

The "Legends & Lore" Forum, as is my knowledge, contains the only storywriting board on the forums, and, according to Rule #5, all stories within it must be related to AQ. This fact brings me to the problem at hand: Where do all of the stories not related to AQ go? Do they go on the GoCA, or is there another place for them?

I would really appreciate an answer.

They go in the main GoCA area if they don't fit into the Lore area. You might want to add [Story] to the thread title to make it stand out a bit better, seeing we don't get a whole lot. Maybe your story might change that. :) ~Grafh

Everytime I download The GIMP for installing it, I try to extract the file from WinRAR but then it shows an error EVERYTIME.

Best to make a thread in the Gallery Q&A about it. You'll get a lot of help if you have your own thread.
