Im sure this has probably been suggested before but couldnt we do like weekly or daily tournaments where the winner wins maybe like 10k creds 1k varium or some rare tournament gear. I think it would be a really nice addition to the game you could also have like a tournament leaderbord and tournamnet achievments. Anyways i havent really come up with the special details really but i think it could be a nice addition.

If this happens you should vs people only your level so that elite players don't dominate

Yeah i was thinking you should have to be like level 15 and do level 15-20 level tournament 25-30 and 30-35 one 1vs1 tournament and one 2vs2.
And the rewards should be level appropiate.

Back around mid-Gamma they've been talking about releasing tournaments in the Design Notes, but then they stopped mentioning it. That'll be really fun though, just fighting people to win rare prizes, credits, Varium, etc. So I support.

It would be difficult to have tournaments because so many people would want to be in one and it would cause a lot of lag

Lag? I disagree would not say "lag". A tournament can simply be a bracketed handler for multiple players. Record wins and losses, and adjust the brackets according to those wins and losses. Lag is from overall processing, and without heavy code to manage a group of players... especially while barely using graphical data or audio!.. there would unlikely be lag.

Greatly supported.
But keep in mind that AE depends on benefit of them making money out of every update that they make, on that note this means there will be no varium rewards unless people have to pay varium to enter the tournament, and this applies to the rares too because Epic duel staff has always mentioned that a rare is a rare for a reason and this is part way why we dont have a player auction.
Other than that i think it would be great to fight to win battle tokens and credits.

i would join if the tourney gave battle tokens or credits... but as for varium i would not join bc:

1. it would take varium to join
2. the prize would be very close to the price you paid to get in
3. people would flame staff for not giving 2nd or 3rd varium too
4. people would flame staff for giving var to best players and not everyone else

imo though, battle tokens and/or credits would be a nice touch

Maybe like, gambling?
Spend pay 100 var to a big pot of varium, then play.
Winner get's 90% of the total pot, and the game taxes 10%, so they still make money

How'bout it?

Making money? ED makes more money than almost every other AE game, I think they could afford to lose a dollar here or there every now and then.
Supported.
Tokens are a useless reward since once you buy all the achievements there's nothing else other than flags.

This would be really fun, the prizes also seem like a great idea.

Supported.

I don't think you need to support his idea.

It should come in the future at some time as they posted this a long time ago close to the end of Beta.

Everything they said on the week's post did come true. 2v1...

Supported though.

Supported and not supported at the same time. Gambling has always been one of my best features, no matter what it is in.

However, including gambling on ED not only opens a chance for good ways, but making it only varium would take away greatly from those ED players who do not have such. One of the three things could be done in such a case:

1. (Mind you, this suggestion all depends on how much you need to place in the pot to get in) Increase how much varium each Mission/quest gives so that it's enough for at least ONE attempt to play. Because if you win, you get more than you placed, which is a good start for those who dont buy the varium. However, it is also a chance for them to LOSE. Therefor they cannot participate in another tournament (This is a good way for ED/AE to get players to buy varium packages to participate, however, this proposes another problem to the table). So this is a gamble for ED/AE as well. They would be losing money, because of the easy ways to gain MORE varium by winning tournaments. So either take out the idea of using varium and replace it with Credits or Tokens, or flat out make it to whereas you dont win more varium, but you get what you placed into the pot. Nothing more, nothing less.

2. You could give the winners of the tournament a shop to BUY their winnings from because of the fact that if it was free, plauers would not only win a lot of varium, but items as well? Let us not forget, if you go in from square 1 with some varium, and you win each one, you'd come out with a heap-load of varium on your hands. And i strongly stress how harmful that would be not only to ED/AE, but the players who lost the tournament. This is an unfair way to load on the varium, so i suggest an alternate betting tool.

3. Having a tournament, mind you all, will propose more problems. If there was to be an alternative betting placement here, the winnings (If there is one) would have to be thought out with a great amount.

Hope i helped. Or made things worse. Meh.

Why not make it like the new arcade where you have to give a certain amount of battle tokens to participate. And the rewards can be the same or a bit different from the arcade

Giving it tokens? Receiving credits/varium as a reward? But when, how much, after what is done to get it, and how will it be awarded? You're making it to whereas a reward is given after each winning match. it's where the "Winner gets all" phase. So no, because all players would need to gain something if it was just credit priced, and it wouldn't be a tournament at that point. Unless ED makes a tournament for the fun of it, and no prize, no requirement, just to have fun.

I would agree with idea because it would attract more people to play more often and that means more money for them . But also they could have hourly comps that you can win 5k credits or something like 2500k or all day comps were you get 250 varium
