It's been hammered into us that rares are not coming back, and yet rares are coming back in multiple ways. The new Spectral Blaster and Ghoul Cannon are a good example of the weirdness that happens, being superior to the original versions. This is just a really wacky decision and I'm not sure how something like this gets approved, but it feels incredibly strange that the old auxes were not updated to have the core. If you don't want to retroactively change items for consistency, then don't recycle their name, theme, and art style. Thing is, they're different enough in terms of actual assets and asset creation that it seems like there is very little reason to not create a new item from the same number of new assets. Unless of course metrics have shown that such a substantial amount of people that bought the new package also have the old ones that it would significantly impact varium sales. At which point, again, create a new weapon (since you made new assets anyway...), or at the very least give it a different name than slapping "2018" on the end, considering it's a fundamentally different weapon in terms of actual gameplay.
