Gifting Contest Event Guide
Hello, everyone! With Kibbles and Tibbles get ready to kick off the 2024 Winter Season of Gifting, it's time to come together in the spirit of giving, community, and hiding from the once-sealed bard Kar'Eh and her spreading influence. To make sure everyone can stay warm and informed in the upcoming contest, here's an information post on how our contests work.
What are the Seasons of Gifting?
AdventureQuest hosts two yearly events in which players can gift gold and tokens to other players. In the northern summer, these are collected by Tibbles, while in the winter, they're collected by both Kibbles & Tibbles. For the sake of fairness, each gift is sent out to a random active player, with the gifter and recipient only knowing of each other's character names when after sending or receiving the gift respectively.
Eligibility
To be able to receive gifts, just play the game! Every day you're active is a day in which you can receive gold or token gifts. We've worked to ensure a fair distribution of gifts, but if you're not sure your activity for the day counts, just winning a battle will make absolutely sure you're in the pool!
As gifts are received one battle at a time, you may notice yourself receiving them even after the content ends. This is completely normal, the game is just catching you up to all the gifts you've been sent!
Reward Distribution:
When the event begins, you will find Kibbles or Tibbles in Today's Events, where you can select your gift amount and make another player's day! You will also notice that they link to a seasonal leaderboard. What's that all about? To encourage and reward the generosity of the season, each Season of Gifting comes with two sets of items as incentives.
One of these reward lists is the Community Set, with each item being unlocked as preset milestones are hit for collective gold gifts. The more gold everyone gifts, the more items will be unlocked!
Then there is the Giftmaster Set, designed to reward the most generous Z-Token gifters with items unlocked through placement in the top gift leaderboard. Each Giftmaster item will have an associated threshold, with all who place above it gaining access to it.
On the matter of stretch goals, those are a possibility! However, as we're developing items and content for the rest of the game during the gift events, it's very difficult for us to have those prepared ahead of time. We will disclose when stretch goals are a possibility, but what they are on any given contest will vary according to what our week to week workload allows for.
During the winter contest, there are also special items being given away randomly every day to active gifters!
Reward Mechanics
We begin each contest by showing off what the upcoming rewards will look like, but what do the items do in-game? Just like the cool art, the mechanics are different with every contest! The way these mechanics are decided are different between winter and summer gift events.
For the winter event, the Kibbles rewards are designed as a total surprise by staff! For the summer gifting event, we will discuss changes ahead of the next one coming up, and update this guide.
