First lets set the measurement units of word to pixels
go to the top and click Tools-->Options-->Genral and check the circled checkbox

Now draw a rectangle

Double Click the Rectangle and go to the Size Tab. Change the height to 99 and the width for 350. then click OK.
Note: When you have a line of 1 pixel thich, word adds 1 pixel to the height.

enter the fill effects mode

Click Two Colors, then click Diagonal Down. Click the one you like the best and click OK.

Click wordart, select a wordart style and Double-Click it, Type "Example" and click OK

Right-Click the wordart, Click Order-->In Front Of The Text. Click the wordart (the text "Example")and drag it on the rectangle, then release.

Add a render, double click it, go to the layout tab, click in front of the text and the Enter key on the keyboard.
(picture with no background, renders can be found here http://www.planetrenders.net/)

Resize the render (click and drag the white circles in the corners), and locate in the right position

take a screenshot of the sig ( How to take a screenshot?), paste it in paint and select the sig with the select tool

cut the sig, and paste it in a new window of paint, crop around it and save!

You Made a MS WORD Sig!
When you make a sig like this it's recomended to put more then just text background and a render, try adding more things like shades to the render and glows. more on these commands can be found at the next section of the guide.

Advanced Commands For Advanced Users

Grouping and Order of Objects

Make a glow

Notes:
1. This guide was reposted since it was accidently autopurged
2. Although many people doubt the neccesity of this guide - MS Word has a huge potetial and for people who can't download stuff it's really good. A proof that MS Word does worth something (a sig that is 100% done in word with no renders or stock) Ultimate proof - Best MS Word Sig

Thanks for reposting, LIMN. Great share. I love the signature noted at the end, better than some people might be able to do with Photoshop (not pointing out anyone here).

That's a nice guide!

If you'll tell me in what step was the problem i'll help you solve it. it worked on my brother's PC and he had 2003 so it should also work on yours.

Thanks Fartix

OK, try this:

enter MS Paint and create a new image
enter the attributes window (Ctrl + E) and change the unit to pixels. enter the size you want for your work (probably 100 on 500)
Fill your image with green.

save your picture somewhre with as "Size1.png".
Enter MS Word and add this picture in. resize your work to be exactly that size and you are done
