Good Day, Mr. BloodAxe... Ug der, ztrauq. Things I would ask... I just glanced through the previous, so feel free to skip anything redundant. Me gruk. We've heard your weapon of choice in AQ. What's your weapon of choice in the real world? Hmm... my caustic wit? ;) Assuming you answered the last question with something snarky like "my causitc wit," what kind of physical weapon would be your first choice in the real world? Seriously, I already answered this question with Coronet's. I would favor swords as a melee weapon, but learning how to use a gun would also still be needed. What do you think is the most immersive way to conceptualize a virtual world online? Freedom to do what you want without the usage of rules or systems that would otherwise hinder reality. For instance, PvP should exist anyplace as conflict should be possible to exist anywhere we go, while equipment should naturally degrade from exposure to the elements and usage. What 3 things do you think could be done to re-engage anyone feeling "burned out" on AQ? 1. Revamp the Game Mechanics - The balance of which the stats currently stand; taking actual measures towards the power rift between warrior, ranger, and mage; the killing of hp scaling; the creation of templates towards monsters, weapons, armor, and spells for overall equality; the addition of creating monsters similar to a player's stats to where more versatility can made in the creation of monsters while fixing the type each are instead of by name. Doing so may cause initial displeasure, but its only the normal powergamers that would whine. Why should this part of the gaming community ruin it for everyone else? Sure, version 30 was great in having a visual facelift, but what about what matters most in a game? The proverbial 'graphics monger' gaming group should be satisified, but the people who are after substance are still hungry. 2. Develop Storyline - Storyline is near completely non-existant, and with what little poor Falerin writes himself seems to be among the only official works that pertain to the world of LORE. By developing storyline, one could see much more than just a hack and slash fest or wars that simply are 'kill x monster'. Subtlety could be added to quests, more dialogue, and we all know things like the ability to drag items or click secret areas is possible within this flash game? Why not go more into placing that into use? 3. More Interactivity - This goes both between the board and the game itself. For the board, I'm sure the staff are busy enough as it is with AQ, but I think the staff as a whole should spend more time in interacting with the community. I've only seen Capt. Rhubarb make any attempts towards this, and I do admire that. As for AQ, there should be attempts in which the player doesn't feel like their character is on a separate parallel dimension that is set apart from every other adventurer on LORE. While PvP can't be option, there has to be alternative ways for characters to meet each and shatter the barrier. Games become more fun when you can actively play alongside another in any online game, and that alone would get rid of the burn out factor without the previous two points as it is a crucial factor. I was very dissapointed when the War of the Fangs didn't have the ability to have two separate war meters be ran simultanously to create some friendly competition amongst the players. Headphones/Speakers of choice? I like both... depending. What character race do you most despise in standard RPGs? Elves. What character race do you think is the most overhyped? Again, Elves. All you need to do is look in my Misunderstood Orc thread and it'll explain why. If you encountered a life-size dancing banana icon in a dark alley, what would you do? The best saying for them are, "Ignore it, or kill it. Anything else would honor it." Metric or Traditional? I'm too used to using Traditional. Have you, at any time in your life, simultaneously owned more than one lava lamp? Nub. Mac or PC? Always owned a PC. QWERTY or DVORAK? QWERTY. A DVORAK keyboard looks... weird. Favorite constellation? Hmm... Draco. Spork or Foon? I'm used to calling them Sporks. Favorite dish with noodles in it? Five cheese penne pasta. :D Do you ever underestimate the tech? *shrug* What quote best summarizes your philosophy on life? I'll have to think about those two... What type of modern architectural material best summarizes your philosophy on life? If you had to choose an area of Lore to be irrevocably wiped off the map, which section would you choose? The entire mountain range within LORE's map. If that many maleviolent dragons live on a single mountain to create an event out of it, it'd be best to simply wipe it all out at once. It would take an eon to have dragons have clusters of thousands on a single mountain, and unrealistic when you think about how territoral they are. ;) If you had to pick the 3 most time-wasting monsters in Lore, what would they be? Xyfrag, Slatwobb, and pick any generic vamp or lycan that is lvl 50 and gives the same amount of xp as a lvl 3 monster would. Do long and somewhat banal lists of questions like these slowly begin to wear down your psyche and sanity? Only if they were stupid questions. Would you like me to ask you anything else? I can go on for as long as you want :) Go ahead. I don't mind.
