In EpicDuel, they're those who fight competitively against other players, and they're those who "pull a Buffy". Why should I as a player sacrifice losing to winning 99% of the time? I believe there should be an incentive for fighting real players instead of NPC'ing. I though about something along the lines of 2 battle tokens instead of 1 for fighting real players, but I'd like to hear what you, the community think about rewarding players who strive to become the best whilst fighting real players.

The incentive is speed, fighting real players is usually faster then fighting 15 NPCs, and after level 33 that will become even more prominent since all of the weaker NPCs will be out of your level range. Though there are always people that will care more bout percent and only fight NPCs even if the incentive to fight regular players is extremely high. Personally I do both, I fight 15 NPCs an hour and spend the rest of the hour doing randoms, which leads to bout 36-42 wins an hour because my connection is slow.

^Yes, the incentive may be speed but at what cost? The main reasons 1vs1 daily players battle NPC's is due to the fact that they're very easy to predict, and also you know exactly what your going up against, where as player v. player 1vs1 may give you a stubborn player that doesn't die out as quickly as a NPC would. By the way, just to add, a player below the level cap may actually find it quite difficult to achieve victory v. a player higher than herself/himself. This is something that needs to be counted.

Furthermore, a player does not have wait 15 seconds(give or take) for his/her opponent to make a move, whilst NPC's only take about 2 seconds to come to a decision. Graphics, battle speed, and server location may also be altered to make NPC battles go much faster. If you take a second glance at NPC's, they're actually much faster to farm than 1vs1 players(especially in a general view).

Totally support,incentive either in tokens,credits,and "less" important experience. Or even,dare I to say,1 varium per won fight against real player?
Really great suggestion.

Constructive!

NPC do provide more then just an easy victor. Many players have older weapons that are outdated and are unable to use. Many of times, I used my lvl 22 Morning Star and under level items just for fun with NPCS.

NPCs also provide no resistance in regard to personality or bad behavior issues when dueling in pvp. Somedays players need quiet and dont need to be harassed.

And finally, NPCS provide credits/influence/tokens. All can be used in a variety of ways, and are all quite valid.

Wiseman posted a thread about Overpowered and Balance, it would be good to view it, and see if this could be a good alternative for players seeking more then high win total.

^That's because NPC's have a limit of 15 battles per day. I must also mention that, as quoted:

a player below the level cap may actually find it quite difficult to achieve victory v. a player higher than herself/himself.

NPC's provide easy credits for those who lack fighting skills or for whatever other reason. By the way, if you were truly able to get 150 kills an hour that would mean being the record holder of most 1vs1 wins in a 24 hour cycle. Your only exaggerating the amount of wins you can receive.

Inconceivable!

I would say the incentive is in the challenge itself. NPCs are just plain repetitive. I don't know about you, but fighting the exact same battle over and over is not my idea of enjoyment.

Besides,you need to face players if you want any chance at winning on the leaderboards.

I don't see a need to punish players who are just NPCing. At level 33, only the Bio Hazard would still be faster than just dueling players. Right now, win percent means nothing, and if it's ever tracked in the future NPCs will probably be excluded altogether.

Personaly i think they should stop the 15 Npc's a hour and just make it where only 15 of them a hour goes towards your LeaderBoards record. So the people that dont want to fight real players are limited to such little wins a day. Or atleast rise the limit to 20-30.

if i had the knowledge of this game i had back when npc were unlimited...... i would do many, many things
u can 3 turn marauder hulk resulting u beating him 5 times in less than 2 minutes
just an example
2 X 30 =60 mins
5 X 30 = 150+
and thats how u can get 150+ wins an hour if NPCs were unlimited.

@helloguy
i done 15 in 7-8 minutes
i somehow managed to 2 turn valery 4 times in a row (luckiest day by far)
and the other NPCs only took about 2-3 mins (shadow guard and hulk)

@above- as an experienced mage, I can tell you that 3 hitting NPCs with a REGULAR build is not easy. 4 turns is minimum for mages.

@tigure
extremely high support
high malf, with high deadly aim and 5 focus should get the job done easier.
usually a 3 turn but can be 4 if ur malf attack gets blocked.
so u malf like 50 tech, and then ur aux (eggzooka) can hit 60 per haps 70s (when i had a build like this i was using betas)
and the gun is like an automatic 50 damage with high deadly aim and that really suckish res on the NPC.
