Howdly-Doodley my delicious little friends!
This thread is designed to house discussion about EpicDuel's complex but mostly-hidden storyline, the storyline quests, your favorite characters, and everything else related to the ongoing tale of Delta-V. Discussion topics include the direction of the storyline, the interactions betwixt and backstory of the various characters, and the history of Delta-V.
for those of you who haven't seen it yet, here is the official Storyline Source Material, containing a treasure trove of information about the characters and places.

Personally, I would like to see a lot more of Ulysses. He's an interesting and tragic character (my personal favorite) who could play a crucial role, or at least receive some development, in the story to come.

 @Above: I doubt Ulyssess will get any attention. I don't picture him as a person selling Varium-heavy items :/

ED's storyline isn't complex ._. it's WAY too simple x_x

I would prefer Cindy to be defeated as a war boss. She created Alydriah's pet, Armor Hazard, and must be PUNISHED!

 @wraith Don't blame the Cindy! D:< As long as she refrains from making Moose Hazards she'll be safe from me. Would you want to get on Alydriah's bad side and not follow her orders? Do you want Cindy to end up like Boothe and be without eyes? I don't.

@question mark? Ulysses seems like one of those people who would make a robot out of several achievements to enact revenge against Baelius and his troops for their cruelty towards him. He probably has both the resources and ability to make it as well. Totally not trying to push a suggestion NPC into ED here >.>

Personally my favorite NPC is Oz because he's that mysterious person who knows how to handle himself in a fight. Only level 10? He pulled an Artix Krieger and sustained injuries bad enough he lost levels. How? He fought through a large number of Baelius' troops and almost finished off Caden, one of the strongest TMs around on Delta V.

@Question Mark? yeah I got to agree with you there man Ulysses seems like a boss character and he and Mort(I think that is his buddy) were one of the few NPC's not to get Christmas stuff even though Ulysses has been in EpicDuel for most of Beta onward(right after flags came out Ulysses came out or something close to that it has been awhile don't kill me for being off)

 @OWA Who could resist making this wonderful thing? I don't think Ulysses could resist making it. And what better way to enact revenge anyways besides an amalgam of NPCs?

Shadow guards should have their own boss, being Baelius' top human enforcers in Delta V.

I like Ulysses too- he's a really tragic character, and I'd like to do more with him as the story progresses.

Persoanlly I find the storyline hard to follow.

Perhaps a possible idea would be to incorporate more video cut scenes like AQW because I find that storyline easy to follow thus it engages me more and sorta gives the missions more of a purpose.


I like the little intro video from oz,

But the only thing I gather from that and coicedently all I fully understand about the stoyline is in that video.

To me its about a planet tacken over by evil rule then the old civilians coming back to fight known as the exiles,

That is basically all I gather,
Its hard to tell if the main evil leader is the overlord or the women starting with A which I cant spell.

And it is also hard to tell if the exile leader is Oz, Exile leader(they guy under hanks) or that old frost war women which I also cannot spell xD.

Perhaps It would be an idea to glue the storyline peices togther by assigning them in a progressive order.

For eample at the very start of a charcter created they could play the short intro from oz and start at oz.

Then they could do a few introductory missions which would be "the main storyline" and claissfy the current missions as "side mission" then on completion of the Main mission it leads to ones invloving the legion/exile leader which you can choose then to become an alley with them or to be agaisnt them, However it should be made in such away were your not actuly a part of legion or exile at that point rather just determines how they talk to you and certain missions after that.

Then on joining a faction you could be either exile or legion niether is limited by what mission you chose but however if you were considered a legion alley and you join a Exile faction the legion people may say things like "how dare you betray us" and vice versa if you join legion and you were alleys with exile.

Then once you join a faction it should open up a new set of mission by having the first faction mission set pop up when you join the faction. If however you leave the faction and join the other side, it wont have the usaly first mission rather a mission shwoing that you have betrayed you exsisting side and then continue on those mission.

These missions should not give major rewards either they should be made interesting and provide engaging video scenes to give out the storyline in an engaging manner and leave the current "side missions" as the ones to give out the big rewards.
They could be termed as storyline mission and they should be compulsary to complete to go onto the next set of storyline missions which may be determined by what sotryline mission yoy already completed.

The missions are alright, but cutscenes would add to the "feel" of the story. *hint*

Yeah actually the workshop is like a forgotten place! And i know story line is going in other way frysteland and old fortune city and things like that but home sweet home ... COming back to the very first places will be great!
and i can say that Mort is one of the most cool characters i ever saw in ED... Mort i think it's a french word means Death! Stunning

Anyway

I feel pity to ulysses because he loose his eyes and a hand. I'm just wondering what happens to his eyes (looks to Edgar Boothe).

Well,
For starters, I did write a little bit of fanfiction about the end of Baelius & what happens next. I really should continue to write it. :) Linky

I'm thinking that we will soon see a lot more storyline in the game. So #HappyCow

 @ND i do regret not hosting the version without the Titan helm on it because that is my favorite one but that computer is long gone now so back to the drawing board(Or maybe see if NW wants to make one )

@Cindy I feel Ulysses would be a great aid to the Exile army and possible the leader in a future battle because the minetower is his backyard and he is a supporter of the Exile cause(I think all I know is he waged his own war against the Legion before setting up camp in the desert)

Really if either side tried to take over the MineTower there would be a few problems to deal with.
Problems for the Legion:
Ulysses, Lawman, Selina

Problems for Exile:
Caden, the Guards(Desert, Heavy and the lone Arctic Guard and Shadow Guard)

Unknown Factors:
NightWraith, Snork, Kraggor

Amazing how one comment can turn your mind into a machine trying to figure out things isn't it.

Hmm, I can see why Epicduel's storyline is so limited. I tried writing a short (2000ish word) story about some of Oz's past moments and i literally couldn't. There is is just something about the Epicduel characters that make me hit a writer's block every single time.

By my story, link aboveish. :P
Ulysses died by an unknown being, Caden died, the Guards scattered around due to Marauders.
Read the story. It'll get even better in some time! :)

 @Wootz I feel it wouldn't be right to kill of an NPC boss, Caden, or Ulysses just because Ulysses is a boss.


Also if you want to trade stories my second story is more or less centered around the MineTower and the area around it.

Well, I did center my story far from the current times, if the current storyline is set it our time, it's in 2012. And I wrote 2143 in the third part. So, it has a huge space of history in between. :P

Chapter III: Been to Hell is now live! Enyoy the hellish Vault deep under Old Fortune City!

the storyline is nice, but i think its a bit hard. i mean, to complete the heartbreaker saga you have to beat admin 11, who in my opinion is the hardest thing in this game bar none.

Aside from the few dozen typos and general grammatical errors, that really wasn't a bad story Wootz! :)
