I have seen multiple questions about account deletion and even asked a few of those myself and finally an idea that would be similar to that has popped into my head and to my knowledge it wont mess up the master account system nearly as bad.

If I said this was simple I would be lying so be ready to open your mind and think outside the box with me. Though I will write this in the most simple way I can and trust me I can be very simple.

The suggestion is a code you get when you create a character the game generates a case sensitive code that uses letters(obviously) and numbers ranging from 4 digits, for this entire suggestion digits will refer to letters and numbers, to however many digits are required to account for every character that will ever be in EpicDuel. This code will be used to reset your character or in simple terms take you back to the character creation screen but your name will stay the same so players can't get free name changes.

Now to get into the meat of the suggestion because that was the most basic of a basic overview I could think of.

Like I said before the game creates a code for every character not every account this way if you get scammed your less likely to lose everything to the reset feature. Just off of the 4 digit combinations you have 238,328 different codes so the chances of a scammer being able to guess your code is slim to none. A hacker on the other hand, well if your hacked the level of security that a flash game provides will not be enough to save your account from being reset if they so choose to reset your account. Now to reset your account you would have to visit M4tr1x in the Overlord Facility and click on reset account. Once you click that you are given a prompt to read and a place to enter your reset code and after that is done you are taken back to the character creation screen.

Your reset code will work however many times you want to use it so you can reset your character at any time and for any reason, so long as you can get to M4tr1x that is.

Now the prompt I mentioned earlier will tell you that resetting your character is final after you hit the continue button on the creation screen. With resetting your character you lose all your weapons, armor, bots, bikes, credits, but you keep your varium. ONLY RESET IF YOU HAVE TO.
Yeah that is along the lines of what the prompt should mention but the Devs can word it however they please.

What of the current players you ask. Well when they log in they will get the same pop up screen they would get if they had just made a new account and it would give them their reset code and it would have a massage telling them to write it down in a place they will never lose it because you only get to see it once, actually twice because you would have to confirm two screens one with the code on it telling you to what it's purpose is and another telling you the code and to write it down(word doc, txt doc, note on your phone, hard copy, ect.) and the confirm buttons would be on other sides of the screen from each other so you have to find them and read the page.

Now here is one final piece I would like to add to this idea that gives the reset code real value to every player. If you have every used the quick account recovery then you know exactly how this will work and you can just stop reading and comment because that's what I'm about to describe. Okay for those of you who don't know quick account recovery is for members who have paid on an account, DF AQ MQ WF or AQW, so can get their account back by entering a transaction code or a gift card code, I've done it and it works the longest part of the process is finding the page. Now if you have one of your reset codes you can use it to regain control of your account if it is scammed or hacked. Now what stops you from entering a random code and getting someone else's account in your hands you ask. That's a good question but after you enter the reset code a password with a confirmation code will be sent to the original email used on your EpicDuel account and once you enter the confirmation code another email will be sent telling you the username and password for the account linked to that character. So in short every code only has one email that works with it and F2P's will be able to have quick account recovery, which is good because I bet we are the most scammed group in the game.

So if you have read to here click that shiny "post reply" button and give me some feedback on this idea

Why would someone ever want to reset their character?

Despite the slim to none chance of the code being found, this just adds a new way for people to hack and grief.

Then again I also never understood why you would want to delete a character...

There are people who have the ability to mess up an account so badly that they would have to lose an ungodly amount of fights, including NPC's, to fix it. Not sure if any are close to the surface but I have seen a handful of Q&A topics about deleting bad accounts or just accounts in general. Seeing as deleting characters messes with the master account, or it did back when you only had one character per account, this would be a better solution then messing with the portal as the problem would be solved internally.

Finally if your gonna get hacked there is pretty much nothing you can do about it. Scamming on the other hand is a different story and you can prevent that.

Supported. Also if your character had any Varium left then even after you reset your character the Varium should still be there.

What about items that were brought with Keys when purchasing Varium Packages. Should they also remain?

Also should it free to reset your character, or should it cost some Varium? Varium since it doesn't matter if you use credits, once you reset your credits will be gone too.

And I don't think getting a code while creating a character would be good since most people will probably ignore it, lose it, forget it.

It's Xap, not Xan. :P

I support it but due to all the people who are stupid enough to get scammed it sadly won't happen.

@Xap the code was my idea of a fail safe to prevent scammers from really messing up your account as well as a way to save your account if you get scammed. But you are right most people would just say forget this and jump through the two screens telling you what the code is for just like it is a ToS.
