I'd like to see a historical section so newer players can read through the events that they weren't there for, and veterans can relive their glory days. There's alot of Friday the 13th events that would need work, then the one-ups like my personal favourites, the lionfang rare. This would be a very large undertaking but I'm the player-bade is up to the task of preserving the early days of AQW for posterity. Event Title *Status/es [WAR, Player Designed Content, Crossover Event, Holiday Event, Special Guest Event, etc.]* (/Join [Eventname]): Active Event Dates: the dates that the event could be played Unique Event Items: Summary of Concepts and Events: the storyline of the event as portrayed in the quests and relevant quotes from the npcs of the event to provide any background needed to clear up otherwise ambigious information within that guide Event Background: What previous events/ aspects of storyline lead up to this event? What else Impacted the creation of this event? Were player suggestions involved in the content? Event Legacy: how the event impacted events and storylines that followed. Ex. the lionfang event was alluded to the chaos twins, and lonfang played a role in latter winter events, etc. Examples: The Fell Beast *Player Designed Content* (/Join Darkdungeon) Active Dates: 16th May, 2014 - Current Unique Event Items: Items from the event were purchased with Dungeon Tokens which were obtained as rewards from event quests. These rares included: - Weapons: Lumenomancer's Gift, Lumenomancer's Woe, and Righteous Deliverance - An Armour: Lumenomancer - Helmets: Lumenomancer's Helm, and Lumenomancer's Undead Visage - A Cape: Lumenomancer's Cape and Sword - Pets: 13th Egg Pet, and the Cockatrice Hatchling. Summary of Concepts and Events: Upon returning to the mirror realm, they player is informed that the egg which is believed to be the egg of the 13th Beast of Order. had been found but has unfortunately fallen into the possession of a terrifying mystical creature which until now had never been confirmed to exist in either versions of Lore, the fabled, menacing, Cockatrice. The players must reclaim the egg of this legendary beast before it falls into even worse hands. Background: The Fell Beast was created by AQW player Alastair Q after winning the grand prize in the "Design an AQW Release" contest in the April 2014. He was heavily influenced by the concepts of the Mirror Realm and wished to further storyline of the Chaos Saga within the Mirror Realm (where it was the Order Saga), and decided that this was a good chance to add more items of Good and Order, both of which he felt were somewhat neglected catagories at the time. Event Legacy: The Fell Beast was one of two player-designed, chaos-based releases leading up to the Summer of Chaos, in which the ultimate end of the Chaos Saga and the fate of the entire game will be decided by the players themselves during the most destructive war which has ever occured in it. ---- The Chaos Lab *Player Designed Content* (/Join Chaoslab) Active Dates: 23rd May, 2014 - Current Unique Event Items: Rare items from the event were purchased with gold and ACs and included the Chaos Portal Cape, the Chaorrupted Chinchilla Hat, and the Chaorrupted Memet pet. All other event Items from the event were either dropped by the bosses and minibosses of the event or purchased in a merge shop with Crystalized Chaos (dropped by all enemies in the event and rewarded from quests within the event). These Included: -Weapons: Chaorrupted Blade of Awe, Chaorrupted Light of Destiny, Chaorrupted Cyseros axe -Armours: Chaorrupted Artix & Beleen, and Chaorrupted Cysero & Alina; Helmets: Pink Chinchilla Hat -A Cape: Purple Potion Pack -Pets: Chaorrupted Hamster, Chaorrupted Battle Hamster, and Chaos Daimyo (added after the inital release in celebration of the mighty canines birthday). Summary of Concepts and Events: The Chaos Lab event posits a real-world disaster in the Secret Underground Laboritory, in which the chaos has managed to slowly infect and download the consciousnesses of the Developers since Beleen first created her dream world the year before. A cybernetic singularity pulls the developers into the game, trapping them inside a chaotic version of the lab with chaos moglins everywhere and chaorrupting the developers (and the server hamster and ficus). The players had to play cleanse the mods of chaorruption one-by-one before taking down theficus and the hamster (and then the even bigger hamster). Background: The Fell Beast was created by AQW player Runester333 after winning the grand prize in the "Design an AQW Release" contest in the April 2014. He based the basic concepts of the event on a dream he had, and worked from there to add in more details. He was influenced by the concept of Beleens Dream World from the 2014 Valentines Day Event and decided to use that as the mechanism to pull the mods into the game. Event Legacy: The Chaos Lab was one of two player designed, chaos-based releases leading up to the Summer of Chaos, in which the ultimate end of the Chaos Saga and the fate of the entire game will be decided by the players themselves during the most destructive war which has ever occured in it. ---- Lionfangs Castle *WAR* (/Join WarLionfang) Active Dates: ?th October, 2009- ? Unique Event Items: Items were obtained as drops from the monsters and maximillian himself. All item drops from this event are now rare. The events items included: - Weapons: Maximillians Whip (the first gun-class weapon), Golden Pheonic Sword - Armours: Maximillians Armour, Golden Warrior - Capes: Maximillians Cape, Golden Pheonix Helm - Helms: Maximillians Helmet, White Fur Cloak Summary of Concepts and Events: Despising the concept of the newly formed alliance between good and evil, Maximillian Lionfang (once a loyal subject of King Alteon the Good) collects and captures the key NPCs from both sides of the treaty and rules them all to be guilty. The players had to transform into cosmetic undead forms to penetrate the lethally toxic fog which surrounded the castle and fight wave after wave of undead to cross the moat and reach the lair of Lionfang (undead classes, the Doomknight Class, and the Golden Warrior armour could also be worn to breach the fog). Upon defeating him the NPCs were freed (from the "do not cross" circle which they did note dare to cross) and Lionfang fell into the toxic fog. Although the NPCs believed him to be dead the players were shown a teaser clip of Lionfang speaking to the Chaos Twins (their first in-game appearence), alluding that much more sinister plots would soon follow. This event included a war bar with each section of the bridge requiring a certain percent of completion to unlock the next frame. Background: Maximillian LionFangs betrayal of the forces of Good was a direct response to King Alteon the Good's decission to ally himself with the forces of Evil and the belief that such an alliance was a disgrace to the forces of Good, no matter how great the common enemies power was. Event Legacy: This event first introduced the heros of Lore to the menacing lionfang, and was the first allusion to the Chaos Twins. The Lionfang castle would return again in the frostval event, and finally the chaos saga. Each time similair yet unique versions of the original LionFang armour set were intoduced into the game, being the dark, arctic (light-blue), chaos, and xavier (silver) versions. This event featured the premier of the doomknight armour. The lag caused by the final fight of the event (the fight with Maximillian LionFang himself) was so severe that for the first day it was nearly impossible to finish a single boss fight. This was among the most severe lag-attacks that AQW has yet seen. ------------------------------------------- I'd also like to see a myths and legends section involving the forming of the land of lore, the early pioneers who settled in it, the migration of the elementals from other planes, and the emergence of chaos. This could be great fun for players to submit ideas too and you'd end up with an entertaining background to the game which hasn't been well portrayed yet and provide a "history" aspect of the game. The beauty of this is that it lets players backtrack to help "form" the game as the lore surrounding it really doesn't yet exist in any great detail and may potentially be used in future updates if you decide to have players explore the formation of lore in storylines yet to come.
