It's odd how a story comes to you. For some people, they just sit down and rapidly pen for hours, producing a ton of things that everyone enjoys. For others, the pressure to produce causes stress and sometimes hampers the ability to give all that they have and be proud of their work. Many artists, whether they are visual, musical, theatrical or written, speak of muses, inspirations and such forces. Those "muses" are different for everyone, but I am of the mind that everything we do has a reason. This release was not originally planned as it has been produced. It was going to be a whimsical revisiting of the cave people where the player would see that they were healing and enjoying life. You were going to find treasures deeper in that cave, treasures that were going to further the healing of Silence's followers, and in turn, enrich your own lives in Lore. Obviously, that is not what happened. I cannot pinpoint why this is the story that was written. But, this is the only story that I could write. When I shared it with the co-worker that edits and helps me tweak the releases, he was on board and helped me really delve deeply into it. I had this unnerving need to write it, and write it seriously and reverently. I don't believe in coincidence, nor whim, to be honest. I believe that someone can be moved to do something because, somewhere, out there, whatever the prompting was would affect someone, or be something someone needed to see or hear or read. Like I said, I could not write anything but this story. I wanted this to be a very deep, meaningful and worthy story for all of you. I also knew this would touch some very personally. It did for me, several times over. The position I have put you in as a player is going to be... perhaps a touch too personal. Maybe it will force you to think about circumstances. Maybe it will force you to reconsider a thought or an opinion. Maybe it will soften you. I don't know. I have no real idea what this story will do for any of you. My hope is that you appreciate this release. My prayer is that you understand that sometimes, it doesn't matter what you want to do, it may not be what you end up doing. I've been known to produce a more serious side, the creepy side, the unpunny stuff. This is probably one of the most serious pieces I have ever written. I am proud of this release. I am also proud of the fact that I work with a team that supports all facets of writing and types of releases.
