As we notice that Epic Duel staff spend time on reducing the cost of adding slots to the inventory and character hairstyle as well. Now I feel that you should also reduce the price of Name Changing. You can use any one of these or both of them:

1. Credit as well as Varium: Like the Class Change. You can add credit price valued at 200,000 Credits and 500 Varium. or

2. Varium Only: Reducing the price of Changing Name from 1100 Varium to 500 or 550 Varium.

This area really need to be looked into. And I would also like to suggest that since a long back ED Satffs deleted lots of accounts which were not active. Please do the same so that the names can be available for the others.

No, especially to the credit option. I think was intentionally set at a high varium-only price to discourage people from doing it all the time because it can cause confusion.

@NDB Between what kind of confusion? I personal believe that its players choice to change name according to their need irrespective of the fact that what others gonna think.

At a best guess, Leo, the kind of confusion could be if you change for example from "Billy Bob" to "Laserz" and your Faction Leader looks at the list and does not recognise the name they are going to be fairly confused or possibly removed from said Faction.

The same goes for the buddy list if you see a name you do not recognise or they have not told you before hand "I am changing my name to so and so" they might remove them. Although it is their responsibility to let people know, that is what I assume NDB means by confusion.

Name changing or having names saved under certain users takes up space in the data base which the staff has to pay for just like inventory and bank space. this is why it costs varium and doesn't have a credit price. reducing the price or even adding a credit price doesn't help in this area and as it stands now this is one of the perks that should remain varium only.

As for NDB's words I can totally understand his point as well. Ever so often I see the name of someone I don't remember adding on my list and quite a few times I ended up removing them only for a buddy I know to ask why I removed them off my buddy list and while I agree it is their responsibility to let you know they did this, if it became cheaper to change names or even a credit option (No matter how high) came this confusion would become worse especially for those who want to go willy Nilly with this feature.

As for the removal of old names they did do this near the beginning of omega which is how I got my current user name but I could support doing that if the player has been inactive for a long period of time who has said name.

The server space thing is a negligible non-issue. The real reason is likely because it's a purely cosmetic change, and people are willing to pay the price.
It's just a good way to make money without impacting combat.
