For those of you who played EpicDuel back then in beta or gamma, you might have remembered a time when the cheapest varium weapons costed a measly 5 varium and I also believe that back than, Frostbane costed about 95 varium. Hairstyle changes costed 5 varium.

Now, which varium system did you like back than? This one, or the old one?

If we had the Varium Prices divided by 10 like the good ol' times, your Varium can last a lot longer.

But they probably multiplied the prices by 10 so more people can buy 10k Varium for 50 big ones.

a yes i remember they gave us varium at the start of an account. they gave us 100 varium and was supose to be multiplied by 10.
mines however for some reason stayed at 100 and didn't turn into 1k
thats why i always had crap armors at low lvls

You only got free Varium if you played before the Founder achievement was gone. That was in January 2010, so if you didn't play at that time, you didn't get the Varium.

I believe only account that were created at the time received free varium due to the fact that only upgraded members of AE's games could play so varium abuse wound't be an issue(wow can't believe I remembered that).

 Varium was given out during later 2009 because the new payment system wasn't finished yet, so a lot of us started with 100 Varium, which was equal to 1000 Varium.

Both system come out to be the same thing in the end. Changing it again would only cause confusion (again). You'd still have left over Varium that you can't use even with the old system. Only you'd be stuck with 5 Varium instead of 50.

Right now, the system is on the same magnitude as the other AE currencies. 10000 points will give you 10000 Varium, 20000 NG, 20000 DC, 14000 AC, etc. It might appear odd if $50 only got you 1000 Varium compared to the 10000+ of the other currencies.

 i joined in 23rd december 09, i dont remember any varium.... Was i that nooby i didnt know what it was and spent it on worthless weapons? o.O

Deimos, you had to link a mechquest or other AE game at that time to your master account to get 1000 free varium at the time.

I joined later and just missed that promotion thing.
