Constructive!

I request this to be stickied till this issue is resolved.

This past week the buttons for Epic Duel were redesigned with new brighter contrast. For some individuals who have sensitive light exposure, this could provide discomfort or pain. If you notice any uncomfortable difference in your eyes or feeling eye weary due to the buttons, it would be best advised to use sunglasses while playing or not play till the buttons will be better adjusted.

I dimmed my screen. Which is good, but I have to brighten it on EDR because the background is too dark. And of AEF. So yes it must be changed.

Just a thought, if they were dimmed like when you click to log they go darker. IMO that would solve the problem. :)

There are many variables on this issue. Using the old format to now, there is a major difference. I am not sure if it is the contrast color or how the design (optical illusion) that was used, but it has an effect of opening the eye in attempts to absorb more light, and it does strain. I am one of those who is light sensitive, and noticed it immediately. I also have heard it from others so I know it is not a personal issue.

Altering screen/monitor settings could help, but it doesn't solve the problem.

This was not much different when captcha was introduced. The background had multi-color layers with colored numbers/ lettering in different fonts. It was much like one would see in security measures for online shopping or accessing sites to make sure your an actual person. The problem with that method was, it kept repeating after a few battles. I was extremely happy when the adjustments were made to our current captcha.

My eyes have now have been strained and they are a bit sore now, so I will likely not be playing much till this is corrected.

Thank You Fay. :)
I had submitted few female hairstyles/helms in this generic format, so anyone can use them without intruding on color individualism of other players. Seahawk did a fabulous effort in uploading them, and I am quite thrilled to see them.

^JZ can you do some male styles?

Lol

Dimming the screen is annoying, espescially turning it back to bright later on. Your eyes don't adjust well.

I've retrained a few times since release, eyes are VERY sore.

I'm not having problems with it but it's nice that you posted it, many games have sometimes been demanded for damaging a person's health and this must be handled really fast before someones or anyother company present a demand. It would be really sad for the game to fall down.

The only significantly brighter buttons are the glassy blue/green ones at login, server selection, character selection, and level up. Nothing in-game that should be preventing light sensitive individuals from playing or detracting from their gaming experience. If it does turn out to be an issue, slapping on sunglasses, or dimming your monitor temporarily are both viable options to get past them.

I think the majority would say that the new buttons look sweet, and staring at a computer screen in the first place has always been a potential health risk. If an individual has such severe sensitivity, that those buttons would bring them notable pain and discomfort, and are playing on the computer, they should already have preventives in place.

Right click your desktop, personalize, display, adjust brightness, change power settings, lower brightness.

Unless ED is the only game that affects your eyes.

Even backed with good intentions, I don't feel this is needed. The new buttons are only seen when you log in and other obscure areas. There are many, many places and areas that weren't updated with these new buttons, most of the old interface is still there.

My eyes may not be as sensitive as others, but I have noticed absolutely no strain from the new buttons. It would just seem more work to return to the old interface, considering it doesn't exist anymore. Honestly, if this was a huge health risk, it would have been altered by now.

I also question whether this could actually prevent a player from enjoying the game. Unless, you are staring at the screen for a couple of hours, you shouldn't notice much more strain than from the minute it takes to log in. Also, you present this as a health risk. There are many other prominent health risks on the game.

For example, the 24 hours you have to compete to win an achievement. Staring at a screen for too long can damage your eyesight, cause eyestrain, RSI(repetitive strain injury), affects your body function, etc. As you can see, the game has many health problems and the one you presented can be considered diminutive.

Celestine pls. don't challenge my thread. I have made a respectful post about the issues of the new buttons. We don't need to be educated in long term effects of doing any thing consistently. Since you are not me, and not the other individuals who have mentioned this, you are not in a position to diagnose this situation.

All the buttons need to be done is either tint them or adjust design, so the effect is diminished.

This is for players who have noticed an issue from before to now, and for people like me who wish to address this issue as a possible problem/hazard.

At this point, I have no clue why you're posting here. If you don't have an issue, then there is no need to post...

I find this truly unkind of you. I am not sure what has happened to you of late...

For Green Rain: It is only ED. I have no issue viewing my normal online activities.

I agree that there should be a dual option for viewing purposes seeing as there are colorblind options for other products. However it does seem that it wasn't that big of a change and that other people should be able to adjust and i personally like the changes. That being said I would like the dual option to be implemented but seeing as i like the new version I am mostly neutral on this issue but i thought I would maybe bring to light another aspect.

I'm just gonna make another post to this thread, I can't keep my eyes open for 2 seconds with the new interface. I hope they follow with you Jzaanu. Health is far more important the entire game. The dev's should have paid attention to the players health.
