Is Support supposed to make you go first?

 I played against some player 4 times in a row. Each turn, he went first. Always. I had 20 morepoints of support.

During each battle, he told me to get less support, because supposedly, less support means you go first. Is this true?

He was also one level above me.

It increases the chance for you to go first.

Chance means not 100%

Therefore it helps you to go first but does not make you go first.

Higher support increase the chance of starting in a battle, but its not really noteworthy... its all about luck.

When I was a support merc in Delta, I went first about 1 out of 20 times when I had the highest support in 2v2 matches.

It made me believe support plays no part in who goes first.
