Once again taking some inspiration from LoL, I thought about having an honor system similar to theirs. Basically, after battle you could have the option of honoring a player for multiple things such as Friendly, Teamwork, Knowledgeable and even Good Sport. Take for example you're in a battle and your build sucks, and you admit it. The other guy decides to give you some tips on it. Then after battle you could either mark him as Friendly or Knowledgeable. Teamwork would be in 2v2 and Jugg battles only. Good Sport would only be able to apply to your enemy in the match and would be used to show that, win or lose, they had a good demeanor about it. They didn't brag or boast, or resort to name calling. Problems: What good does it do? It's just a number, why do players care about it? Fame is a number, why do they care about it? Rarity is a number, why do they care about it? Achievements just give numbers, why do people care about that? What is it used for? Good question. It's hard to think of an award for this without making it something players want to abuse for their own advantage. Mayhaps an achievement or some special perk. What about people who would use this like F4F? Moderator action. You can always report players who want to do a F4F deal with this and have mods restart or at least drastically reduce their score. We need a way to encourage players into good behavior. Online punishments seem to only serve as an annoyance for most players and only increase anger and stress for that period of time, rather than a deterrent to doing said behavior. If we encourage players to do good, then we'll be a step closer a less toxic environment. This system doesn't work in LoL because they have yet to implement the most important part, the rewards. Edit: Did some research into LoL's system. They do give awards, but it's just an animation and then a temporary crest on the character.
