The following is a breakdown of my main character. While I feel that his unique duality could add an extra layer of intrigue to your story, you are more than welcome to use whichever side of him you wish!
Name: Azure/Demise
Class: Evolved Dragonlord(With Dragonlord Wings)/Doomknight
Weapon: Icescythe(Stolen from Dragonmaster Frostscythe after defeating him)/Necrotic Sword of Doom
Dragon's Name: Brionac/Destruction
Dragon's Element: Ice(with Primal, looks like a standard Ice Dragon from AQ Classic)/Doom(Looks like our dragon does now that he/she is corrupted by Caitiff)
Dragon's Age: Young (In its normal form its the size of the other Young Dragons we fought in the Dragon/Rose war)
Story: Azure is a Hero among Dragonlords. His defeat of Dragonmaster Frostscythe earned him the distinction of becoming the Champion of House Vilmor and the Herald of the Ice Realm (Herald=1 step below Champion of Ice). He and his dragon Brionac were key figures in defending as much of the kingdom as possible from Akriloth while the Frozen Scythe was sought out and the Frozen Claymore forged. But no-one knows of his and his dragon's dark secret. Since the defeat of Sepulchure and the SMUDD, Azure had been seeking the power of a Doomknight. He found it when he found the secret Order of Doomknights, a remnant of Sepulchure's true legacy. The order worshiped Sepulchure as a god and had given itself the mission of creating a legion of Doomknights to prepare for his return. Joining the order, he and Brionac were infused with seeds of Doom, turning him into a larval-stage Doomknight (This is what the Entropy class is in my headcanon), and Brionac into a darkness dragon.
He hid his and Brionac's true nature from the world by means of complex and powerful illusion magic taught to him by his new masters. He continued to be a hero and exemplar of a Dragonlord, but all the while the Darkness within him grew stronger as the seeds of Doom in him and his dragon partner began to sprout. Eventually, even the illusion magic could not hide the change in him, and his dragonlord armor turned from silver and blue to black and red, his helm transforming from the style of House Vilmor to a greyish-black version of Sepulchure's helm (Dark Sepulchure helm, Black Friday 2013). The legendary Frostscythe he wielded became the Dark Frostscythe(the Black Friday weapon!): a weapon of darkness nearly comparable to the Doom Weapons in power, and his Dragonlord wings morphed into a tattered grey cape formed of solidified darkness (Dark Legion Cape, Black Friday 2013). He attempted to explain away the transformation of him and his dragon by stating it was simply a change in wardrobe, intended to be more intimidating to his enemies. His actions, however, said otherwise. He and Brionac became more ruthless and cruel. They began to cause much more harm from their heroics than good.
Eventually their transformation became complete. Azure became a full Doomknight of the order, being christened Demise, and Brionac became a full Doom Dragon, being named Destruction. They left the Dragonlord order together, publicly changing their names to Malgus and Decimas, continuing to masquerade as anti-heroes, using the illusion magic to hide their true forms, and true power. As Demise grew in power he and Destruction became members of the ruling Council of Doom Lords, the leaders of the Order. In keeping with tradition, he created his own unique helm, forged of darkness, its design a hint of his destiny(the Royal Doom helm is his helmet). No-one outside the Order of Doomknights knows of their identities as Demise and Destruction. Those names are, like the names of the other Doomknights, spoken only in hushed whispers. For the Order prefers to continue it's growth in the darkness. While its enemies and would-be destroyers fight more immediate threats, it continues to grow, waiting for the day that Sepulchure returns.
Notes: So that's basically a snippet of Azure and his dragon's transformation into beings of Doom. I had to cut out a lot of stuff to try and keep it relatively simple. You are fully welcome to use Azure and Brionac in any of the above states (Heralds of the Ice Realm, Malgus and Decimas, Demise and Destruction ect...). I personally would suggest working his duality into the story. Maybe even have them reveal themselves (with very good reason mind you) as Demise and Destruction.
But like I said its your story, so just take whatever elements you want and use them to your desire! Good writing to you!
