I don't have any particular problem with the staff making exceptions regarding those receiving prizes from the donation contest. However, I do think that it's important for them to be consistent with the exceptions they make. It's extremely strange that @Red Blood has not been given access to the colour-custom Ironhoof armour after only falling 3600 Z-Tokens short of the goal, when other examples have been handed exceptions despite them being further away from their respective threshold. My point is neither that Red Blood should be an exception, nor that other players should have their exceptions revoked. The staff reserve the right to determine who is eligible for the prizes and, while I think they have a valid reason to be upset, Red Blood has no real argument for receiving the prize. They fell short of the stated Top 25 cutoff, after all. Nonetheless, I think the staff also have a responsibility to be make fair decisions, and this choice doesn't appear to be particularly fair to Red Blood. Perhaps there's a good reason why, but it's not immediately obvious just from looking at the leaderboard. If there is a good reason why, I'd encourage the staff to make it publicly known. While on the subject of rather baffling decisions, it seems that several have been made lately. I won't rehash my warnings about the estate fountain here, suffice to say that it was a strange item with a cobbled together 'solution' that's going to have some long-term implications. More relevant to this thread: I'm unsure whose idea it was to provide a fixed release time of approximately 3PM EST 08/01, but it was very clearly an unreasonably tight deadline. It's not exactly unusual for items in AQ to be released with a bug or two; that's only to be expected with the extremely short turnaround times and limited manpower. That especially applies at busy times like the one we're in now. With that said, there is simply no excuse for the items that were released on Friday. Never mind bugged, they were barely functional. The only thing on the shield that worked somewhat normally was the turn skip feature (which now, rather ironically, has had a 'fix' applied which softlocks the game). The misc was released with crit lean modification disabled and its extra hits can't crit, completely defeating the purpose of having them (something I aired my concerns about on the design thread). The weapon wasn't released at all; it was just a placeholder. We already knew that the armour was going to be delayed, but these items should never have been released in such a state. I'm unsure if there was a miscommunication behind the scenes, but I'd much prefer to wait an extra day than have a broken mess released at the allotted time. I don't want this to come across as too harsh. I'm well aware that the staff is working flat out right now, and they have limited capacity for fixes. Nonetheless, both of the decisions discussed above are always done during a period of intense pressure, and they still absolutely need to be done right.
