ArchKnight AQ / OOC / L&L


 *Beyond the gates of good and evil, past the chambers of fear and guilt a cloaked person sits on a stone chair. The chambers are but an illusion crafted by this individual, but are a reality to those who convey into their realms. In front of the chair a basin carved from rock which reaches to the height of a average man's waiste.*

Greetings denizens of the library. Those who come here often may recognize me as someone who comments a lot on the stories here, as an ArchKnight I will continue to do this. As is tradition, a new ArchKnight is to be shackled and interrogated by the denizens of the forums.

A little history. (As this IS the L&L.)

Last week I was on the forums, little did I suspect that when I left for a moment someone knocked me out. When I woke up, I found myself in white chamber with two men wearing white tuxedos. When I demanded to know the meaning of this, they briefly looked at one another.

"You seem like a perfectly dull person, sir."

"On the other hand, you seem to have this other life as Dwelling Dragonlord."

"Why are you keeping me here? I demand to see a lawyer!"

"You know so much and yet so little."

The man tore of his face, revealing a face which looked remotely like a toad as white as chalk. I screamed or at least I would've where it not for the fact that my mouth was gone. They got a white little briefcase with a dragonfly symbol on it. A chill went down my spine as I heard the sounds which came from it as the briefcase was opened. With a long tong they grabbed an icky thing which looked like an unusually big dragonfly larvae squirming to get free. I didn't like the way that thing was looking at me one bit.

Hey Dwelling, congrats on your AKship and on helping Eukara's plan to feed the L&L until it's big enough and strong enough to overpower the rest of the forums. A rather brilliant plan though lacking in goats.
Goats are overrated, we only need pack burros.

The shackles cause me to trip, fortunately they only manifest on this plane of reality when I leave my confinement.
ANCIENT ALIENS.
Indeed, I suspect the Truphma to be alien and very ancient.
So if Azer will become both a DragonCommander and a ChronoPhage, does this mean your story has a long way to go until completion?
Let me put it this way, the story I have planned could very well take a trilogy to complete. It is very long, fortunately some of the training sessions which would take a year to complete will only get one chapter or it'd be murdering on my part. Azer was going to learn some ChronoPhage-like powers eventually, but in the far future and even then the progress would be painfully slow as he'll only learn a single ability which will take very (understatement) long to master.
Since Jeanne will become a DragonCommander, does this mean Hounds of God is semi-canonical to your story?
Didn't Jeanne become a Dragonknight?
Since HoG is mostly canon to my story and vice-versa, does this create some crazy collab world canonicity chain reaction?
Do you mean the HoM? (Hall of Memories)
Who would you say is the strongest character shown thus far in your story? Straongest character overall (though this one can be as vague as you like since you probably don't want to spoil anything)?
Volu is probably the strongest character thus far, but even he dwarfs in comparison to the "main villain" who I believe is on par with Sepulchure in his prime. I'll have to make some arrangements and then I hope to give you the most advanced and sophistated villain you have seen in a very long time.

Congrats are definitely in order for thee you, Dwelling! What kind of shackles could restrain a dragonlord, though?
Adamantium shackles, forged by archmages in the blood of an eldritch evil. I also suspect Cysero to be involved.
Where you shall dwell? In here? Forever? Seems kinda dreary. You should brighten the place up a bit.
This is but one of my many abodes.
So, what's your favorite genre of literature?
Can't say I really have a favourite theme, it all comes down to the book. I do enjoy the Medieval theme though.

Favorite story in the L&L so far(feel free not to answer if you'd rather not)?
There's quite a few stories I've read and I enjoyed most of them. That isn't to say some stories like "Hounds of God", "Cataclysm: Origins" and "The Galin' War" stand out for their action scenes (not to disregard the other parts though) while others like "The Boundless Words of Power" and "Tales of a Warmonger" stand out for their dialogue and their ability to describe the situation. Then there's stories which make use of creative points of view like "Dragon's Files" which make them enjoyable. Really, there's a lot of good stories out there.
Favorite snacks?
Chocolate chip cookies come to mind, strawberries aren't bad either.
How will you contribute in the fight against the Trumpha? Blows with a blade or a quill? Both, if necessary?
I'll use the Quill of Thot to strike fear into their hearts even as they turn into dust.
Favorite school/field of magic and/or magical theory?
I'd say that would be the study of combining several elements.

How do your new shackles fit?
They fit wonderful, but are annoying when I wish to leave my confiment.

What was your reason behind picking the name 'Azer'?
Just a thought I had when I created my character for AQ. I did not know about the D&D race back then, if that's what you're asking.

Favorite poem in L&L, if there are any?
I have only ever read .Discipline's poems and that was quite a while ago. I honestly can't remember.

Which genre of literature do you read the most?
Usually something with historical connections or fantasy.

 Greetings again, DD. Hope those new shackles of yours don't lower your 'independent action' stat by more than 50%. New responsibilities also mean lesser time to mingle with the crowd.

How does it feel with these newfound powers of yours? Ever thought of suddenly banning someone or deleting a thread about a topic you don't like ever come into your head? Hehe.
I was more afraid I'd accidently delete a thread or something like that. It seems I haven't gone mad on power just yet.
In your story, you seem to put a lot of emphasis in Lore's wildlife and various fauna. Ever thought of being a zoologist? I was really expecting you would someday make a documented bestiary about all the various creatures in a first person perspective, similar to Diablo 3's scribe Abd al-Hazir.
You mean in the L&L? Hmm, haven't given it much thought. Azer is a scholar and I make use of this fact by making sure those who read my story know a bit what to envision. There's monsters people from DF don't know and there's monsters people from AQ don't know.
I'm not sure if I've asked you this before, but, is Azer a 'chosen one' type protagonist? If so, has this something to do with why his Dravir teacher abducted him?
Azer was never meant to be a "chosen one" protagonist. While he is "special", I doubt you'd want to trade places with him to see that potential fulfilled.
Also, you have hinted of a main antagonist, will his role be directly connected to Azer's existence or is he a villain with an ulterior motive that does not involve Azer?
He doesn't concern himself with Azer, which is only lucky for him. When the time comes, I'd like to call on your artistic talents if you're interested to portray this "archenenemy".
I know it's kinda premature as I haven't fleshed out their respective back stories, but from reading through Part 1 and the Dragon Path, Who do you like better? Jeanne or Noir? You could opt for Lawrence as what Glaisaurus would do.
Probably Noir. She's a lot more likable.
Lastly, what's the story behind your name?
My forum name? Well ... I had a lot of other names in mind, but none of them were accepted as they were too long. So after a lot of names I looked at my Yu-Gi-Oh cards for inspiration and crossed my fingers.

I plan on making the reason Falconreach is called Falconreach is the hill on which the Guardian Tower rests. Then I'm going to rally an angry mob to chase the mayor out of town. Then I make myself the next mayor and pass some laws which will open Aspenvale Academy and the Libraseum (Rayf was keeping them closed so he could collect the royal funding). Once those laws have been accepted I'll step down and then I can enter those places.

Three questions.

I must say, these boards certainly are busier than The Gallery. What are your thought on that?
You don't need special permission to post in the L&L, unlike The Gallery.
I see a lot of users getting AK'd recently. Why is that?
Fresh blood and apparently there's a lot of potential. You don't get accepted into the ranks just like that.
Congratulations on the promotion/shackles. That being said, why adamantium? Vibranium is the stronger substance.
The supreme overlord still has got to pay for the server costs.

 Well hello there. Congradulations are in order... And apologies as I have yet to finish editing my story, but oh well. I still have your critique from my old thread saved.

The question that must be asked by obligation to every new AK: What is... the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
50-65km/h, but that's only when the swallow isn't distracted with other things.
And now, for something completely different. Since I don't really have any questions, how would you like to turn the tables? You ask me questions instead, and then I'll come back and re-edit the post. I think it could be a fun little inversion of the norm, and I sometimes glean more knowledge based on the questions people ask than by asking questions. What do you say?
How many chapters of my story have you read thus far? (My submission for the current contest counts as a future chapter.)
All of the ones in your story thread... And yes, I postponed answering these questions until I finished reading them all. That's why it took me so long!
Who do you find the most interesting character?
My favorite is Volu because I have the hilarious image of him sitting at a little girl's tea table in one of the chairs, sipping tea, very refined, because he's not one of those ignorant Seekers, no, no, he's far too refined for their paleolithic, simple-minded behaviors. As far as most interesting goes, though, the lich rather piqued my interest. I'm very curious about him.
What do you think of the battle scenes?
They're well done. It's clear they're not the focus, and that you aren't planning to write an action story, and they fit that very well. They're interspersed well so it's not one giant action scene, but there's enough in there.
Could Cataclysm defeat Sepulchure?
Ufufufu... I actually have an idea regarding writing that, thanks to forum member 1412. Let's just say that we shall see...
What do you think my custom title should say?

I think I've earned it, but more importantly Eukara thinks I did. It still feels a bit funny though.

Do you like insane peoples (or monsters)?
Depends on the insanity. Big Head for instance is a nice fellow, but some are just plain annoying.
who do you think is the most insane NPC in any game of AE?
Cysero, hands down. Loco and Xan have shown logical behaviour, something Cysero never did.
Do you like dragons?
Yes.
What is your favorite animal?mine is snakes,alligators,dinosaurs,lizards...
Tiger, but I like a lot of other animals as well.
Is Sepulchure very powerful?
He used to be.
What do you think about DF Drakath?
1. He is supreme to AQW Drakath.
2. While he showed promise, he forgot what he wanted and died too soon because of it.

Once you have written a segment, read it over again. Reflect on your previous chapters. Do you tell your readers enough, do you tell them too much?
What classics would you suggest I read that are along the lines of LoTR, both in popularity and plot?
Unlike many others, I have never read Lord of the Rings before. I did read some excellent stories such as "Abhorsen" and the other parts of the trilogy. It's a book which takes a grey stance on necromancy.
Which are you favourite stories in the L&L, concept-wise, that is?
"Dragon's Files" and "The Boundless Power of Words".

I do wish to return to it at some point eventually, although the Aegis Golem will be guaranteed to be weakened whenever it does happen.

That's always good to hear, do you also leave comments every now and then?
On with the questions...

1.What sort of genre do you enjoy the most (books)
Something with elements of history, fantasy or both.
2.(This questions I ask in most MtAk)How are those shackles of yours?
They fit, but they were something to getting used to.
3.If you could change something in the world what would it be?
I'd make people more satisfied if they had a home, a loving family and a job to support it. Eliminating Greed and Glutonny, I suppose.

So, do you think Zaer will ever meet a CW and/or a Khy'RHian?
I don't recall a Zaer and I don't know when this story is taking place, but assuming it plays before Dragonfable began I think a Chaosweaver is more likely than a Khy'Rhian since the latter are fairies who are only now being incubated.
What is hte nature of the entropic corruption?
Do you think that entropy, as in en and tropy, could be a viable form of magic?
Do you think the entropy virus, wich is a mix of the chaos weaver and shadowscythe one, could mutate more?
The virii responsible might also allow for a special magic, but I believe it will grow weaker and weaker to a substance found in dragon blood. Hence why Gorgok blew up without recovering.
Your opinion on Chaos weavers?
I think they're good people with grey methods at best. It's a pity Riadne couldn't tell us more about them. Apparently Pandora was also a Chaosweaver back when she was still alive.

Should you be talking about the arachnids, then I think it's a sad fact one man's ambition led to the corruption of an entire race.
