Name: Sir Leopold Hirsch the IV; First Stag of the Green; Frolicker of a Thousand Meadows; Highest Tail; Protector of the Fawn; Right Antler of the Does; The Tickless Stag; Holder of the Verdent Force; Finder of the Best Green; He Who Jumps High

Sect: Order

Species: Red deer, stag

Age: 50 in deer years

Appearance: Leopold is an immaculate specimen of a Red Stag. He stands at 6’ at the shoulder, with all four hooves planted firmly on the ground. His coat is soft and a deep auburn color, trimmed into the strict standards of his order. Ribbons adorn the base of his massive antlers, marking his order and rank within the knighthood. His antlers are wide and impressive, 12 tines on either side that are tipped with iron and scarred from many battles. Interspaced along his chest, shoulders, back and legs is a suit of naturally formed antler armor, made of the same material as his antlers. While the plates are not all-covering, they provide ample protection from less precise attacks while being light enough to afford him mobility. Dots of black speckle his snout, framing dark brown eyes beneath a helm of bone.

Equipment: Leopold’s equipment is all naturally occuring. His armor is made of the same bone like materical that his antlers are and cover weak spots on his body while affording him mobility. His antlers are tipped with iron to allow for more aggressive points. Leopold carries almost nothing else with him as all his weapons and armor are naturally occuring.

Skills/Abilities:


Way of the Stag: Leopold is a master fencer with his antlers, able to combine the light leaping movement of deer with a tuck and parry style of defense with his antlers as well as deflections with his armor plates. While he is a fearsome defener, he lacks any mystical means of offense or self defense, relying on his hooves and antlers for targeted offense and self defense.

The Green: Leopold is in touch with a mystical force called the Green. While it offers no usage when used in conjunction with himself, if Leopold chooses to intercept a strike meant for someone else the green manifests to protect him. It forms itself into a green visage of wrapping branches and thorns, taking the blow and transferring half of the damage that would have been inflicted onto Leopold in some way. THe other half of the damage is doubled and manifested in an attack of stabbing thorns and bashing branches, though the specific manifestation varies by usage. Though the manifestations appear ghostly and green, they are tangible and can be blocked, though depending on the damage taken the riposte may be too much to bare. While effective, the Green roots Leopold to the ground and can only be used in conjunction with one strike at a time, leaving him extremely vulnerable to other attacks as a result.

@Riprose123 - Glad to see you slipping in! As we are approaching these final hours, I will be providing suggestions of my own. If you take these suggestions, we can get you approved more smoothly. If you want to make extra adjustments and look into other options, we have the time for it, but you may end up needing more rounds. Let’s take a look at this deer!

Firstly, while you did not list it, I am assuming Leopold’s intelligence is on par with a human, rather than a deer. I am also assuming that his physical statistics (agility, strength, speed, etc) are the same as a regular deers. Please correct me if either of these assumptions are incorrect. For his equipment, I would like you to include which weak spots his armor is covering, just so it's easier to envision for our writers.

As we discussed over Discord, The Green is currently a little undertuned. There are a few ways we can change it, and a few additions I would like. First, I would like to know where the branches, thorns, and such appear from for the attacks, and I would like a brief cooldown period added between uses, maybe around 10 seconds or so. I would also like a range included for how close Leopold has to be to protect someone else, I suggest within 10 feet. Finally, based on the wording I am assuming the strength of the counterattack is what is equivalent to the damage taken, rather than just the damage. I would also like to know if this is done in a single blow or split between multiple stabs/swings of branches. Either choice should work fine.

For pumping the ability up, I think you could remove the downside of rooting Leopold in place while it's active, at least when protecting allies, as he is already taking damage that he usually wouldn't, so you don’t need to leave him vulnerable as well.

I also think you could allow The Green to be used in response to Leopold himself taking damage, albeit with a longer cooldown and perhaps the self-rooting downside as well. Because this is the only ability Leopold has and it requires taking damage to activate, I am fine with it having more use cases and being a little on the stronger side.

There are slight gaps between each plate, with his legs and stomach completely unarmored. His antlers are tipped with iron to allow for more aggressive points. Leopold carries almost nothing else with him apart from a few cosmetic items.

The Green: The only supernatural power Leopold possesses is a force called the Green. The Green acts as a protective force, allowing Leopold to block attacks intended for him or others. Having chosen him, the Green acts more frequently and more effectively against attacks that he takes on for others, negating damage and dealing it back in equal fashion. Upon it's retaliatory strike, the Green takes the form of thorny branches and whipping vines, produced from Leopold's antlers. The quantity and force of the strikes is dependent upon the attack that is taken. Leopold is only able to intercept attacks for others whose target is within ten feet of him, with the Green's riposte having the same effective range. Acting as a source of the Green roots Leopold in place, making him unable to dodge any other attacks that may be directed towards him as he can only defend against one attack at a time. After he has intercepted an attack, he is unable to deflect another for 10 seconds. Defending himself using the Green acts in much the same way as protecting other but comes with some distinct side effects. He takes half of the damage that would be redirected, with the counterattack only having half of the power as well. The Green also takes longer to return after being used for himself instead of others, taking twice as long to cooldown. The cooldown of both actions is shared, so using the Green to defend himself and then trying to intercept another before the 20 second timer would elapse would not work, and vice versa.

@Riprose123 - We confirmed via DM that The Green still only negates half the damage, whether used to protect Sir Leopold's self or someone else. We also confirmed via Discord that Leopold has human level intelligence. With that listed, Sir Leopold is approved!
