Abiogenist -> How I draw front-view heads in Flash (4/1/2008 20:39:02)

Well, since I have seen many how to draw manga tutorials, I thought "why not me also?"
This is part I. Part II is about adding the hair.

Although this tutorial has Flash terms, you can also do it in MSPaint and also in paper, but, you have to omit or alter certain steps. I did the illustrations in Flash because Flash is more versatile, and this type of drawing guide is much easier done digitally than in paper.

This is Part II

Nice tutorial, Abiogenist ^_^.

The outcome looks awesome :)

*opens flash*

I may just do this now...

I assume the next tutorial will deal with making the top of the head look better, as you said adding hair.

Great stuff ^_^

Edit: Here are the results: http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/9824/tutorialfaceqb4.jpg
The eyes and nose look strange, but that's just my drawing, nothing to do with the tutorial. The proportions in terms of the face are quite good. The tutorial is definitely helpful =)

I now added Part II.
Guess what Part III is. =p

Thanks, Nicky. ^_^ I've been doing my front-view heads this way for years. Maybe that's why they look decent.

Eddy, you have a good start with the drawing. The shape looks promising. However, I do notice the jaw and chin are too low from mouth, making them diproportioned with the rest. With little work, I'm sure it will turn out good!
