Vile_Kyle -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (1/1/2011 23:55:10)

I remember the megaspider was the first hardest enemy to beat because of it spam stuns, the mecharoni manage to beat it tho.

jrobot2 -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (1/2/2011 1:28:31)

When releases were more than 5 minutes long, and more than a tiny shop of junk and a boring minigame.

forumlogin -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (4/5/2011 16:01:47)

Remember when the HMs were actually useful--indeed, the best of their levels? XD

Ah yes, the good old days. cliché? yess:P
True though.

Light Stridr -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (4/5/2011 16:41:33)

I remember when MQ still had Warlic and J6....Good times...

Glais -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (4/5/2011 17:50:37)

@Forumlogin:xD I remember how I hated them because they outclassed the current (much better looking) mechs like the HammerHead and Knightron.

PD -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (4/5/2011 18:25:48)

I miss the days when people actually used to care about MQ Balance.

Now it's completely disregarded in favor of satisfying peoples want for power. :|

TostiTostelli -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (4/5/2011 18:45:46)

I've actually changed my mind about that.
First I thought: keep things the way they are(WB always wins, no balance)
But now: please balance it, this is fun^^

Sparticus -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (4/5/2011 18:46:20)

I vaguely remember having an original Candy Elf Mech. My son sold all my old mechs for a house Mech when they came out but I do remember not using it because it looked like a girl. I remember loving my original Kurosawa, such cool blades.

Gnarnia -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (4/6/2011 0:10:32)

I was there on launch day where everyone crammed getting to level 3 on the drop ship to fight the strange blip.

Ahh...

earth breather -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (4/15/2011 23:23:58)

anyone remember the westion war where westion got destroyed? Worst..Moment..Ever

mechquestlord -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (5/17/2011 4:31:18)

anyone remember the crystal asteroid? that was my first encounter with a decimator. i had to buy the tyranno (i was low leveled back then at a pathetic lvl 13) to defeat the guy. cursed decimation stun left even the tyranno with only 80 HP! still 300 hp was a crapload back then. (PS not attempting to offend anyone whenever i say crapload or anything really)

Dicer -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (5/20/2011 0:44:41)

What about the FIRST Westion war? Yeah, go ahead and murder me now. *aside* Hey Korin, how about another bug war? But, this time, on like... I dunno...Necryptos?
Just imagine Vampire minion spam waves. With shadowscythe strafing. Oh, you know you remember the strafing. I left me computer to get a coke and wouldn't you know it, two minutes later I was almost dead. Then I see a ship come in from the corner of the screen...... *shudders from the memory*

Edit: By the way, speaking of nostalgia.... What about the Warbear? Put a Love Scars head on it, and you can at least take on the first Necryptos Extreme enemy. Warbear is STILL kickin' tail after... what, over two years now?

ScytheOfShadows -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (5/22/2011 7:44:33)

I started off in 2008 but deleted my acc a year later because of National Exams. I went back to play the year after and I had to admit, it was NOTHING like what I saw back then. There were so many planets and quests and mechs. When I was just starting out, I treated the lava blasters like gold, but now, I seem to feel displeased at most weapons.

Knoodlesguy -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (6/12/2011 23:02:10)

i remember when the woldblade v2 was the best mech, and the only real boss fight was sys zero. back then i was a non sc tryin to find the best free player items available jus to avoid donating. i had the police mech lv. 6 for 7 levels and rarely won, til the first easter mech was released :P

Zanzibaarus -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (6/13/2011 0:12:27)

I remember when I owned a Battle Hammer before they became SC only, that or my account glitched so I could use SC stuff without membership. >.<

forumlogin -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (6/13/2011 0:16:41)

I remember when the HMs were actually useful.
Heck, I remember when the lowest level version cost 60k. Farming that Autopsy was painful...XD

Zanzibaarus -> RE: =AK= The MechQuest Nostalgia Thread (6/13/2011 0:26:12)

I remember that too. XD

Cataclysm -> MQ Nostalgia Thread (5/15/2012 20:03:05)

MQ's been around for awhile. Remember beta? When Worsh's minigame was brand spankin' new? When people were still stumbling about trying to find all the jokes on the Dropship? How about when classes were first released? Your first Frostval? Your first GEARS games?

Man, those were the days, right? Back then, everything was so much fun, and it's so easy to reminisce about what seems like the long-ago past. We've come a long way since then - there's been a lot of improvements and a lot of changes, both good and bad.

Let's get nostalgic. What do you remember from way back when?

Supersei -> RE: MQ Nostalgia Thread (5/15/2012 20:05:53)

Ah I remember how i could new get anything cause a mecha was 20k cridits at the cheapest. ah good day

PD -> RE: MQ Nostalgia Thread (5/15/2012 20:09:55)

When filling the effect page entirely was actually a feat.

When there was only one effect, PER effect, PER special

When customization was needed to win.

When people actually were compelled to customize (which, just happens to be a heavily advertized line in MQ's ad campaigns)

Back when using only defaults -> you trashed up

back when the practice of using only defaults would be something attacked with heavy derision.

Cataclysm -> RE: MQ Nostalgia Thread (5/15/2012 20:53:22)

Recollecting some specific examples of yours, PD... I remember spending time and time again trying to find out a way to consistently beat Rusty Rat back when it was first released. I went through so much money shifting up my equipment... It wasn't nearly as bad as trying to best the staff characters, though - they could potentially end you in one turn! Then, THEY were doozies. Dropship ESPECIALLY so. Now they're nothing special.

I remember getting into lengthy debates about the best setup because there was only around 50 items or so, meaning minimal options and figuring out the "best" setup really was possible. Up until recently, I still had a PM from one of the debates.

kim346 -> RE: MQ Nostalgia Thread (5/15/2012 20:56:28)

My first GG was just last year... and since I only recently became a true player, I can't say anything...

Flaafy222 -> RE: MQ Nostalgia Thread (5/15/2012 21:39:37)

I remember struggling to beat Minoton and Rusty Rat, man. Those guys were tough when you couldn't get much.

forumlogin -> RE: MQ Nostalgia Thread (5/15/2012 21:55:05)

Fricken Mino-Ton. I don't think I figured out that you can join a house just by avoiding the guy until a lot later. Got my revenge, though...yes indeed I did...
