Smalls -> No Small Poetry Here (4/26/2009 15:46:49)

Okay, I'm Smalls, I just became an AP, so here's my poems... Thanks to Ana_Maria for the name :D
CC...Kinda forgot, thanks Helix

Why

I loved you,
but you never knew.

I loved you,
only for a day
then you broke my heart.

And now I stand,
with a smile painted on my face
like one of those porcelain dolls.

Trying to be happy for you.

A cold, heavy heart
broken for the first time.

Why did you pick her?

Why couldn't you realize I loved you?

Why couldn't you see
that maybe one day,
you'd love me too?

Shadows

I stood in the shadows, waiting,
waiting.

For you to see me.

I stood in the shadows waiting,
watching.

You walk past me.

I stood in the shadows, waiting,
sighing.

You never saw me.

I stood in the shadows, waiting,
hoping.

That one day you would love me too.

Dreams

I had dreamed
'bout those dreamy eyes.

But they never saw me.

I had dreamed
'bout a serenade.

That you would never give me.

I had dreamed,
'bout something that would happen.

You and me.

I had dreamed,
'bout you.

But you never dreamed
about me.

Facade

I wanted to be
"cool" to "fit in"

So I put on a facade
that led me astray of
the true me.

The scorned you,
for things that you liked,
that I liked too,
but in that facade,
I hated them,
and laughed along.

I laughed along
beliving that the
music I listened to,
that they listened to,
was cool,
but I hated it.

They lauged at things that I liked,
but I hated in this facade.

You saw through my facade,
took my hand and led me away
from the things that led me astray.

And helped me rediscover,
the real me.

Cool

To be cool
they say
you have to like this
not that.

Love the things
that I hate
hate the things
that I love.

To be cool
they say
you have to
listen to rap
but not that.

I would follow,
blindly trying
to fit in
but in truth, I just hated
me more.

Because the real me
wasn't cool to them
but to you,
I was the world.

Beautiful

Love won
Love lost.

What's the difference?
Both end
painfully.

Both begin
with one person.

Both end
with one person.

How is it that
one is so celebrated?

Yet the other is so hated?

Love in its very
essence is painful,
yet it can
be so very beautiful.

Stronger

Who is stronger?
The man with his
head held high.

Who scorns and
laughs at the
ones less lucky
than he.

Or is it the man
whose many years
in the field
have made his hands
rough and raw.

Yet he looks
on with kindness
in his wise old eyes.

Even when his
head is held
low, his back
hunched from the
many years in
the field.

It is truly he
who is stronger.

For being strong
means being kind,
and to never scorn,
to be the stronger person.

Speck of Hope

What has happened,
to the respect
that people used
to hold?

The love,
the kindness,
the family bond?

Has it disappeared?

You've barely heard
a news coverage of
a heartwarming tale.

Only of war,
hatred,
killing.

Yet in the dark of
today's world
there always is
that single,
tiny,
loving speck of hope.

Unique

A flake floats
down from the
heavens.

So small,
so unique

How is it
that we do
not stop and
stare in amazement
at every single
one of them?

The patterns so
small, so unique,
so beautiful

Are a world
of wonderment proving
that to be
unique is to
truly be great.

A Perfect World

How many people
hold on to their
faith?

Their love?

Their hope?

so little people
hold on to the
important things.

But grab onto

Hate

Violence

Fear.

Ignorance breeds
fear.

Fear breads
hate.

If we could
be more studious

Pay more attention

Be patient

Them maybe
we'd have

A perfect world.

Kids Again

What has happened
to

Hop-scotch

4 square

Ring Around the
Rosie?

Games we played
children.

Games we hate
as teens.

Can't we forget
our age?

Our race?

Our family line?

To be kids again

To go back to simple games
like

Hop-scotch

4 square

Ring Around the
Rosie?

Games that didn't care
what race you were.

What you family
name was.

Just having fun.

Being kids.

Living life
to it's fullest.

Otherwise Known as School

Rows of cold
metal

Pressing in on
me.

Closed doors

Caging me
in.

The only
relief

The teens
talking,
playing,
eating.

The grease
of the lunch

Burning me
like a witch
on the stake.

The teacher's
evil glare

Shooting lasers
at me.

This is purgatory
otherwise known,
as school.

A New Jail mate

Whimpering,

Barking,

Howling,

Nobody
hears me.

Scratching,

Clawing,

Biting,

Nobody
sees me.

Alone in
the dark of
my jail,
my cage.

They left
me

Alone,

Scared,

Angry.

So they
could

Have fun,

Party,

See friends.

While I'm
stuck here
in this

Purgatory,

Jail,

Hell,

Cage.

I bark,

Howl,

Whimper more.

Now I hear
a new bark.

Of a
new dog,

A new
friend.

A new
jail mate.

An Ode to Internet Memes

Shoop da
Whoop

imma chargin'

A classic
internet meme

Run around

Make you

Say goodbye!

Tell a
lie, and

Desu

But for
all that
when I
handed you
the cake
you never
knew, it
was a
lie, desu.

But for
now watch
out desu!

For it's
the pedobear
desu!

Oh god
no desu!

It's over
9000 pedobears
desu!

Even when
imma firin'
mah lazer,
desu!

They keep
coming back
desu!

But I
c wut
u did
thar, desu!

With the
internet memes
coming back
desu.

This is
truely an
ode to
internet memes,
desu.

A lesson to be learned
I never
knew what
to say

To write

To ask

When I
wanted you

To see
me

To hear
me

To love
me

I had
my chance

To say

To write

To ask

But I
never took
it

I never
had the
confidence to
ask you

To see
me

To hear
me

To love
me

But this
is just
another lesson
to be learned

Everyone learns
it at
some time
so

Be brave

Be confident

Be bold

And take
your chance

Like I
Never took
mine

A Broken Heart

You tried
to seduce
me

You pleaded
with me

To let
you go,
alive

But after
what you've
done

What you've
said

I'm not
letting you
go
To breath
your fire
onto some
other unwilling
girl

To seduce
her

To hurt
her

Like you
hurt me

Though I'd
never really
kill

I will
hurt you

Like you
hurt me

Tear your
heart to
shreds

Like you
tore mine

I will
kill your
faith in
the world

In love

Like you
killed mine

I hate
you more
than anything
else in
this world

For Stuff They Did

They annoyed
me too
much

Too often

When I
retaliated they
hated me

for stuff
they did
themselves

Those hypocrites
scorned me

Hurt me

Killed me

For stuff
they did
themselves

The tale
of hypocrisy
to it's
extreme

Where people
hurt me
for things
they did
themselves

Step Up

What would
you do
when it's
time to

Step up
and do
the right
thing?

Will you
jump for
it?

Go the
extra mile?

Or will
you

Sit back
and watch
the horror
take place?

So many
choose the
latter leaving
the former
to die
off.

So when
the time
comes step
up and
do the
right thing

A Broken Toy

I called
you on
the telephone
last night.

But you
never answered.

You were
out with
your new
girl.

A replacement
for me.

Like I
was a
a replacement for
someone else.

You threw
me away

Like a
broken toy

And left
me

A broken
heart

A broken
trust.

I warned
her what
you do

But she
didn't care

Like I
didn't care

You called
me useless

Why? Because
I was
replaceable to
you?

It was
cynical of
you

To break
my heart

And throw
me away.

One Step Forwards, Two Steps back

Where has
all the
love gone?

It seems
to have
been replaced
with hatred

And angst

Two things
replace one

One step
forwards

Two steps
back

One step
is love

Two steps
are hatred
and angst

Ruining our
world.

The Performance

Pencils scratching
out names
on their
papers

A teacher
shushes her
abundence of
kids as
they talk
during her
performance.

Her lecture

Her performance
drags on
for seemingly
hours

Days

Years

When it's
really only
a few
minuets

The kids
saved by
the bell

Ode to Fan-girls

Fan-girls, oh
fan-girls of
twilight

Crazy as
a bat

Obsessing over
Edward Cullen
A fictional
character but
I doubt
they know
that!

Fan-girls, oh
fan-girls of
The Killers

Obsessing over
Brandon Flowers
who's as
lovely as
a dove!

By jove!

What is
that?!

A fan-boy

How is that possible?

But alas
this is
an ode
to fan-girls
not fan-boys
maybe another
day.

Every time

Last night
you sang
a song

In your
blue jeans

For me

But I
never heard

I was
asleep

I'm here
to say
I'm sorry

For everything
I've done

For every
time I've
hurt you

For every
time I've
never heard
you

The Killers

The crowd
screams as
the band
comes on
stage

The slight
frontman walks
on stage
like an
electrocuted chicken

Or so
people say

The guitarist
walks in
his long
frizzy hair
bouncing with
each step

The bassist
comes along
cool, collected,
quiet.

By far
the tallest
member of
the band.

Finally the
never serious
drummer walks
on stage

Drumsticks in
hand, ready
to play
his heart
out

The crowd
grows silent
in anticipation
as the
first note
is played

The first
word is
sung

The first
song begins

With one
note, one
word

They start

They play

Until very
late into
the night

With encores
and cheers

They play
their songs

Frontman Brandon
Flowers dancing
like an
electrocuted chicken

Then suddenly
he stops
waiting for
the crowd
to sing
the infamous
line

I got
soul but
I'm not
a soldier

Over and
again

Then with
the crowd
lamenting the
concert is
over, so
a new
city

A new
crowd

Can hear

Can play

Can sing

With The
Killers

Happy IRCopaversy

I came
along without
a clue

I came
into there
new

And scared

You helped
me out

Like countless
others who've
come along

Over the
course of
a year

Many people
have come
in and
out of
#Help

To stay
for one
moment to
get whatever
was wrong
fixed

Only a
few have
stayed

You've made
an impact
on my
life

Like on
so many
other's lives

For that
I thank
you

And wish
you a
happy IRCopaversy

Writer's Block

Why can't
I get these words
on paper?

Some people
call it
"writer's block"

Others will
call it
"Laziness"

But I
just call
it me.

A lousy
poet who
can't even
drop a
rhyme!

Yet now
I look
on this
paper and
I see
a poem!

A real
life poem!

On this
page!

This poem
on Writer's
Block!

How ironic
it is
that this
turned into
a poem!

An actual
poem!

Footprints

I walked
upon the
white of
snow

Heard the
crunch of
it beneath
my feet.

Saw the
trail of
footprints behind
me.

Showing me
the way I've
come

Showing me
the journey
I've done

That trail
of footprints
haunts me

It's a
trail of my
lies

That I
tried to
escape from

That I couldn't
escape from

But I tried
and tried
to leave that
place

The white
that I
once dreamed
of

Sickens me

Seeming to
turn red with
the blood of
those I've slain

The crunch
that I once
adored

Reminds me
of what I
did in battle

Those heads I've
cracked open
with a swing
of my mighty
hammer

The footprints
my trail of lies

Kill me

Maim me

Destroy me

As I
run back

Over my
blood-stained
Trail of lies

This Marvelous Season

The bloom of
flowers in the
late of May

Signaling the true
start of this
wonderful season called
"Spring"

Starting the

Children playing

Adults chatting

And emo kids
angsting their way

All through this
wonderful season

In the patch of
flowers

Of roses

Day-lilies

And wildflowers too

Signaling Spring

Ending Winter

For the next
few months of
this glorious season
called "Spring"

I'm sorry if I offend

I'm sorry if I
offend

From the words that
come, like a spawn
of my pen

They roll off, never
knowing how they'll
start

How they'll end

The roll in without a
clue

Like a kid having their
first trip to a big city

Without a clue

But struck in
the awe that they can
do this marvelous thing
called poetry

The words roll off
this type of a pen

I must again say
I'm sorry if I
offend

But you never know
what will come off
of this one version
of a pen

New Poem!
I'm Proud To Say

You see all those
"popular" kids who you
wanted to be just like
as a kid

But they're the
ones who give into
the lure of drugs

And alcohol

It's always the
"nerds"

And the "unpopular" kids

Who get past
the temptation

To do wrong

So I'm proud to
say I'm not
one of those

Mindless zombies people call
"cool"

But just an
Average Joe

Helix and I did a colab!Bold italicized blue is me Red is Helix

Birth and Death:
She reached for the bundle of life before her, aware of her every movement
now around it.
The flakes danced around them, depriving her of warmth even as she wished she could fade out of existence, into her own Hell.
Her own Hell, of her own creation.
Created from when she killed
her own kin,
Her own child.

She thought how she had despised the child first. She had wanted to murder it
Feel it's life, seep out
onto the ground
onto her lap
Off to heaven
No more than a day old
She wanted to kill.

Her lips were blue, numb, like
The pond where she gave birth
the frozen pond and the fish trapped in time.

her child Rosie
Breath coming out in pitiful gulps
as she died, on a bed of snow, the moon calling to her, the shadows reaching for her, her own eyes on her fragile mother.
Heart slowing, slower, slower
as she was consumed by the shadows of the moon.

Her mother, murdered her,
carelessly, thinking nothing of it
like she was sweeping away a skeleton of her past
out of her closet.

Sweeping out the old
making way for the new
or so she thought. Her mother was murdering her firstborn child in cold blood.

Smalls -> RE: No Small Poetry Here (5/8/2009 22:02:02)

Well mega-update
Oh yeah this might be somewhat cool to know: I'm sending some of my poems (I have 70 in all, not all typed out though :P) to a publisher to maybe get published... can someone give me any ideas for a name? I'm terrible at them

Ebola's Grip

I feel
the blood
dripping down
my face

My eyes
bursting open

Letting this
blood drip

drip

drip

Making a puddle
at my feet

Staining my feet
red

Or so
I think

I can't
see this
take place anymore
my eyes are
gone

gone

gone

I taste
my organs

Dissolved but
still my organs

Coming out
my mouth

I lay there
dying
slowly

slowly

slowly

unable to
see my death

Possibly for
the better

I see
nothing because
my eyes are gone

I think nothing
because I have
died

died

died

Questions

My heart breaks

Each and every
time I see
you with
her.

Each and every
time I see
you
just
you

Because I love
you
just
you

I'm standing
here alone

Watching you
pass by

With her

Then, she stops

She hits
you, yelling
something

You cry as
she runs away
from you
just
you

But I
run to
you
just
you

Conforting you

Befriending you

Now I
ask you
the important
question

Will you
just
you
love me?

Remember the Past

I always
forget the old

As I make way
for the new

But we
shouldn't forget
one to learn
the other

Because then
we make the same
mistakes

We should remember
the past
and it's horrors

Because if we don't
we'll go back to
slavery

and other horrors

So heed my warning
and remember the past

But still
look to the future
that is surely brighter

Dreams

Strive for
your dreams

Never let anyone
stop you from
achieving them

Never give up
on your hopes
and dreams

Dreams are like
water in a desert

A Prince Charming
for the lost princess

A home for
the homeless

Something that
is seen as
unable to happen

But happens
anyway

As that's what
a dream is

Gone and Dead

I hear the
Waves break
Upon this black sand beach

Made from ashes
From those volcanoes
Active
Or not

And shells of
Animals

Long dead
And gone

I remember the journey
I made to
Get here

My canoe, battered
Beaten

My clothing made of
Tapa, my tapa poncho
Torn and threadbare

My tightly curled
Hair plastered
Onto my face

Because of this
Violent sea

This violent storm

That’s supposed to be
Normal for this
Area

So many gone and
Dead because of
This sea

These huts
Of the natives
Blowing in this
Storm

This normal storm for
This area

Blowing in this
Storm of rain
And wind

The people
Dining on their
Rice
And taro

As they
Try and ride out
This storm

Like so many before

So many dead and
Gone

I watch the octopuses
Wash upon this shore

This black sand shore

As I sit here

Rain battering me

Wind buffeting me

Buffeting the palm fronds
And the Akolea
The Marang
The Aeae
On this black sand shore

This island fertile with
Soot
And ash
From the volcanoes deadly

The seagull’s chirp
Growing louder,
Nearer over
This vast sea

Coming to land
Coming to safety

Unlike so many
Of its predecessors

Who are now
Gone and
Dead

Unable to return

Because of a broken wing

A torn down hut

A capsized
Canoe

The adventurers
Finding new land for

Our island

Our curiosity

Our hope

I made that one for a project for Social Studies, we're studying the Pacific Islands, and well yeah, I'm gonna have to say it in front of the class tomorrow (*gulp*)

Why Should I?

Since when
did I care
about what some kid
thought of me?

My quirks?

How I act?

Why should I care

That you don't like
me

Why should I be
that guy sitting next
to me?

Why should
I become "cool"

When I have
friends who care
about me

Who don't mind
my quirks

The way
I act

The music
I listen to

They way
I dress

Why should I
listen to you?

Who says I have
to do this
and that

But not
be me

But be that
guy sitting right
next to me?

Why should I?

Why can't I be
me?

Why can't you
accept me
for me?

If you can't

Then I can't
call you
my friend

Branches

What have
we come to?

What have
we done?

To be
this cruel

This evil

To kill
without mercy

To not
even think twice

About lying

What happened

To our honesty

Our integrity

Our passion

Our kindness?

Why have we
replaced it with

Lies

Deceit

Infidelity

Evilness?

Why can't
we go back
to our roots
of honesty?

And destroy
these branches
of lies

Sing a Song

Sing a song
of hope

And faith

Sing a song
of love

And prosperity

I sang that song

Nothing happened

Nothing changed

It did
nothing

Absolute nothingness

Why do I
show my faith

To have it crushed?

Why do I
sing songs
of faith

To have my
faith torn apart

And crushed

Why do I
keep singing

In hopes that
some day

My song will
finally get me
somewhere

Not just here

Not just nothing

But somewhere

So I could be
someone

Not this nobody

But someone
who changes the
world

~Bigm

Why do I?

Why do I
try and try

Just to
get nowhere?

Why do I
get back up

When I just
fall down
again
and
again

Why do I
keep this up

When I know
it's not truly
me

Why do I
care?

What did I
want?

Why did it
take so long
for me to
realize I should
be me
just
me?

But I have
one final
question

Do you
love me
for me?

Why do I Believe?

Why do I listen
to those songs

To those words?

Why do I care
what they preach?

Why do I feel
when you know?

Why do I believe
while you don't?

Why do I care for that
when you care for me?

Why do I question my faith
while you don't have one?

I sit questioning

While the important person
is right beside me
holding my hand

The important person
is you

The Murderer

The sword cuts
through flesh

Like a hot knife
through butter

Ending a life

Making a murderer

the faces
dead

the murderer
one

The face of
evil

The flames licked
the blood splattered bodies

Like a char-broiled
steak

The man followed through

Day in and day out

Until one day
he was caught
carving a body
like one would carve
a Christmas ham
making pieces smaller
and smaller

Now he lives
in a jail cell cold

Alone

Crazed

Begging for mercy

Begging for redemption

But there is none
for a murderer
who's heart is as
cold as space

As empty too

False and True Friends

False friends cross
your path

Like shadows
sticking close
when you're in a bright
room

A good day

A lucky time

Like shadows
disappearing when
the sun comes
to a cloud

A rainy day

A bad time

True friends stay

On a cloudy day

A hard time

A day you're down
on your luck

On a sunny day

A good time

A day you're high
in luck

They don't discriminate

They don't care

They don't mind

True friends stay
rain or shine.

The Best Kind of Flower

I'm often asked
what kind of
flower is
my favorite.

I often answer
the kind without
petals

The best kind
of flower isn't just
"flower" it's "Flowers"
or "Brandon Flowers"

Yes the best
kind of flower
is the kind without
petals

The kind with
the amazing song
writing abilities

The one in
the band
"The Killers"

The best kind
of flower, is rare
and unique

This flower is
beautiful

This flower the only
one of it's kind

Because all of these
types of flowers are
unique

Brandon Flowers is honesty
and truly the best kind of
Flower

I Now Pronounce You Man and Hair

Oh Godfrey,
Orange, frizzy,

Terrible, unable
to be tamed

But you're still
Godfrey

Hair of Dave
Keuning

We all
love you

We all
hate you

You're the
lovable, but
hateable hair

Dave Keuning
owner of Godfrey

an amazing
guitarist

a beautiful man

Quiet and nice

Dave and Godfrey

Who is this man?

His name is
Earl

Or so we
thought when
we saw his
flannel shirt
and long
mustache

That was in
'06

But when
we first
saw this man
we thought
President George W. Bush
grabbed a time
machine or
a magical get
young-again thing
as this man
looked like
a young Bush!

Through all
his looks
he always
has been
the one
and only
Ronnie Vannucci Jr.

The amazingly
handsome man

Long haired
or short haired

Mustachioed or
clean shaven

He's always
our favorite
drummer

The Gentle Giant

I hear the
bass line rumble

This gentle giant
on his bass

He towers
six feet
and five inches
off this ground

This stage

He breaks
into song

Jenny Was a Friend of Mine

His simple but
catchy bass line
thumping

Making people
want to dance

To sing along

This man

Tall

Unique

Beautiful like
the rest of the
boys

This man
is truly
the one
and only

R.I.P. Lilly
Rest in
peace Lilly

Rest well

Rest in the
slumber from which
you'll never
awaken from

The car
overcorrected and rolled
killing you
dear Lilly

Injuring two more

Rest in peace

Travel straight
to Heaven

Where God
will welcome
you with open
arms

Dear Lilly,
we've never met
but
R.I.P dear
Lilly

Put to
rest too
young

Way too
young

No one should
die at
16

Their whole
life ahead of
them

Only 16
she was

Only 16
she died

Rest in
peace Lilly
We miss
you dearly

People that's a true story, I did not make that up
it happened Monday...I've never met her, but my mom has, she works at the high school where Lilly went
She was driving a car and she slid off road, the car overcorrected and flipped
Killing her, injuring two others, she was only 16, going into her Junior year in high school, two of her friends are on my softball team

This poem is in memory of her

Smalls -> RE: No Small Poetry Here (6/12/2009 1:10:25)

Night and Day

The shadows
deepen in
the night

Stretching farther

Like the
ocean at high tide

The black
ink of
the darkness

Staining the
page that
is the Earth

The light
grows strong
destroying the
shadows that
haunt so
many

Destroying the
beings that
lurk within
the shade

Embracing the
ones that
shine in
the light

The darkness
thrives when
the light's back
is turned

Two beings

Fighting for
power

Though the
night isn't always
evil

Embracing the
seemingly small stars

Providing relief
to a traveler
dieing in
the heat of
the day

And the light
isn't always kind

Harboring the
deadly animals

Killing those
travelers who
walk in
it's heat

They simply
are just

They are not
good

They are not
evil

They just are

Do what

Do what
you heart yearns
for

Do what
your heart desires

Do what
you love doing

For the
sake of
doing

Not for
the sake
of money

But for
the sake of
enjoyment

Do what
makes you
feel like
at the end
of your life
that you
never worked
a day in
your life

That all
you did
was play

and have fun

Do what
you heart
desires

Just follow
where it
leads you

Because that
is how miracles
happen

How magic is
made

How love
is found

Smalls -> RE: No Small Poetry Here (6/19/2009 16:53:01)

It's Only Natural

It's only
natural

To sing

To play

To love

To live

It's only
natural

For you
to love
me

For me
to love
you

It's only
natural

For this
to happen

If it's
only natural

Why do
so many resist?

Why do
so many people
cheat?

Why can't
we find our
true love

and stay
with them

Because

It's only
natural

This is inspired from Brandon Flowers' "For Reasons Unknown speech" and the song itself, so kinda a tribute to it
Breath That Fire Again

Her long
brown hair
fell

Like water
falling from
a waterfall

Masking her
face

Hiding her
emotions

My eyes
not recognizing
her at all

I want
her back

I want to
breath that
fire again

To regain
what I lost

She leaves
as quickly as
her hair falls
onto her shoulders

A love ended

For reasons unknown

White-washing history

I hide
behind a
new name

Trying to
make it
so that
part of me
never existed

I hide behind
this new name

Hiding my past

Brutal reminders
haunt me

They taunt me

Telling me
I can't hide my
past

You continue
to call me
by my old
name

The one
I want to
forget

The one
you won't let
me

Because you know
I can't hide behind
this mask
of a new name

The way I
want to
forget the
past

Which you
know I can't

You've told
me again
and again

That you can't
hide from the
past

You don't white-wash
history

Or else you'd
make the
same mistakes

Of slavery

I want
to hide from
my past

You know
I cant

My little trooper

Fighting a battle
he is unlikely to
win

Fighting and
fighting and
fighting

Sam battles
on

On and on

Against brain
cancer

A fight
almost impossible
to win

But we have
hope

So we hope
and hope
and hope

So he can
live past
8 years old

My little trooper

Losing his hair
of red curls

From the
radiation dropped
to stop the enemy

The enemy that's
killing him

Tearing me
apart

Even though
I'm not related
to my little trooper

I am saddened by
the fact that
he will most likely

Not win this
battle

He will lose
this battle

This battle may
change the
tide of this
war though

This war against
cancer

My little trooper

Battling on
and on
and on

My eyes tear
up to think
of a world without

My little trooper

The Killers; The One Constant

There has been
one constant

One familiar
face among
crowds of
strangers

One thing
that has
been with
me

Ever since I
moved in
February of
last year

The Killers
my one constant

The one thing
that kept me
sane as
I moved

My life flipped

I drowned
in a sea of
strangers

The Killers

The one
thing that
helped my
life stay
there

The Killers
have told me
to look on the
Brightside

Have told
the story of
my life

The story
of when I
was young

and I sat
and sat
in my heartache

Like it was
said in When You
Were Young

Before I even
realized
the song

Told the story
of my life

Replaceable
told the story
of how
I felt when
He started
to go out with
Her

The Killers have
been the constant
in my life

The constant in my
life since February
of last year

So, I'm working on writing a song....Twisting my poem Shadows (check first post, one of the first poems) into a song...it's bad but here goes nothing
Shadows

I stand in the
shadows waiting
waiting

Waiting for you
to see me

You pass me by

With not one
glance at
the shadows that
cloak me

But I'm not bitter
I'm not angry
I'm just hopeful
and waiting
For you to see
past these
shadows that
cloak me

To lose these shadows
an uncloak me,
to lose these shadows
and uncloak me

These shadows
pass you by

Cover me
cover me

You're a ray
of light

In the dark
of night

In the shadows
I am watching

You walk past
me

But I'm not bitter
I'm not angry
I'm just hopeful
and waiting for
you to see
past these shadows
that cloak me

To lose these shadows
and uncloak me
to lose these shadows
and uncloak me

These shadows here
for far too long

Far too long

Far too long

I know, it's not very good >.> Though enjoy it
~Bigm
