Service A smile in the mirror, She turns, she fades from view, She is no longer who I am, She is not who I wish to be, And yet, She is me. What happened to that girl? So young, so free, Duty, Faith and Honor, The names on Her fetters, But even so, they are silken and beloved. Held down by their weight, She struggles to stand tall, Proud and defiant, She serves willingly, Her Faith and her Honor, shields for her people. In the deep of night, She will hold you close, She will comfort you, She holds the darkness at bay, Taking all your fears into Herself. On blasted dunes She crawls, A sword for Her people, With parched lips, She smiles, She stands up and she waves, A mirror waves back. Service to Her people, hope for a better future, She serves for freedom, She serves for love, She serves her country.
