jsrjohnny -> RE: Pets/Guests (4/29/2010 16:34:40)

It should be noted in it's pedia entry that the Vampire Nerfbat's "Buff" effect resets itself after being unequipped/reequipped.

Kaelin -> RE: Pets/Guests (4/30/2010 4:57:26)

quote:

The Paladin Lord only costs 75 MP to keep per turn against undead. The "Normal" upkeep for all Paladins and the "Undead" upkeep for the other Paladins appear correct.

Also, Z.324 has noticed that the MP-related notes on the Triggers no longer apply, since the specific MP costs are already listed. This means the Triggers section should read like so:

quote:

TRIGGER:
  • On monster category "Undead": The guest deals 110% Base, Random and Stat damage.
  • On anything else, the guest deals 97.5% Base, Random and Stat damage.

  • This change applies to all the Paladins. Paladin Lord, High Paladin, Paladin Captain, Guardian Paladin, Paladin, Paladin Soldier, Paladin Recruit, and Paladin Solder Z.

    Done and Done. Thanks. ~Scakk

    It's EXACTLY the same as the temp version, but it's at a fixed Power Level and MP Level. Also, it doesn't have the *1.25 cost (since it doesn't scale), and it costs MP instead.

    quote:

    quote:

    New and modified Guests:

    All of the following Guests have a new feature: On the *very first round* after you get them, if you do not have enough SP, they will stick around for ONE round and give you the chance to get the SP (no cost, but they also do not attack). This ONLY applies to Guests that you are given by Quests, not to ones you summon yourself.

    Gaiden

    Two "attacks":
    1-hit normal attack, Water - happens currHP/maxHP *100% of the time; no modifiers
    Heal - happens the rest of the time; Always hits and does *=0.85*0.9 Healing (0.85 for hit rate, 0.9 for being Heal)

    Cost *= 1.25 because it is a free scaling guest

    He has no Favorable or Unfavorable conditions.

    Got it, thanks. ~Baron

    Amilara

    Triggers vs Undead - the trigger is performing his Fear attack if the undead is not Afraid

    The Fear attack does 0 damage. It's *all* directed into the chance to cause Fear. If it hits, it attempts to cause Fear in the Undead monster.
    The Fear attack is at +20 Save Bonus for the monster, 36% chance of No Action for 4 turns (Note: The save has Major Stat CHA)

    The other attack is 95% damage - always, even when triggered

    MPCost *= 1.25 because he is a free scaling guest

    No Favored or Unfavored conditions (he's good against undead, but doesn't really like fighting them)

    Artix

    Light attack, one hit - happens currHP/maxHP *100% of the time; no modifiers
    Heal - happens the rest of the time; Always hits and does *=0.85*0.9 Healing (0.85 for hit rate, 0.9 for being Heal)

    Triggers on Undead and Doom
    triggered: *1.1 damage, *0.8 Cost
    untriggered: *0.95 damage, *1.2 Cost

    Cost *= 1.25 because he is a free scaling guest

    Warlic

    Warlic now does normal Element-Seeking

    Damage *= 0.8 for Seeking
    Cost *= 1.2 for Seeking (this includes the multiplier to its turncost)
    Cost *= 1.25 because he is a free scaling guest

    No favorable or unfavorable locations.

    Twilly

    two attacks,
    Earth Melee happens average of (currHP/maxHP + currMP/maxMP)/2 *100% of the time; no modifiers
    Heal - happens the rest of the time; Always hits and does *=0.85*0.9*0.6 Healing to both HP and MP (0.85 for hit rate, 0.9 for being Heal, 0.6 because 0.6*HP + 0.6*MP == 0.6*HP + 0.6/1.5*HP = 1*HP so it's equivalent to a normal Heal)

    Cost *= 1.25 because he is a free scaling guest

    No favorable or unfavorable locations.

    Galanoth

    Free, Scaling: *1.25 Cost

    Favorable Situation: *0.8 Cost
    Unfavorable Situation: *1.2 Cost

    Cost: * 1.25 (Galanoth costs more than a standard guest because the only way to reflect his Dragonblade and Dragonslayer armor is for his power to be over 9000)
    Favourable Situation: Vs Dragons (not vs Drakel/Dragonkin, he can kill them well but they aren't his mortal foes). No actual locations, anywhere he should be running around is infested with Dragon enemies anyway.
    Damage:
    100% vs Non-Drakel/Dragons/Dragonkin
    105% vs Drakel/Dragonkin + Poison (+20 bonus to target save) and seek to Harm if weaker than Earth
    120% vs Dragons (seek to Void -> Harm -> Fire, will perform Earth attack vs Void Dragons (at least for now)

    If he has already Poisoned the enemy (or someone else has with an equal or higher Poison), he won't try to do so again until the Poison has 0 rounds left.

    Oh, and standard formulae, since I didn't bother to include them in each Guest:

    Base = 0.3*(0.00375*PowerLevel^2+0.5625*PowerLevel+5.25) (not rounded)
    Rand = 0.3*(0.0075*PowerLevel^2+1.125*PowerLevel+10.5) (not rounded)
    Stat = 1.875 * (0.6 * (100 + PowerLevel * 4.4)) (not rounded, yes this is in %)
    BtH = PowerLevel / 4 (Always rounded down)
    SPCost = 0.13125 * (38.1 + 2.3375 * PowerLevel + 0.001125 * PowerLevel^2) (Rounded to the nearest 1)

    Standard scaling guest*. Element-seeks between Darkness and Wind. Her Wind attack can Blind the enemy, but she doesn't do it against Wind monsters.

    The Darkness attack is two hits, Melee Darkness. Each hit deals 47.5% damage**.

    The Wind attack is one hit, Ranged Wind. It deals 11.32% damage*** and has +10 BTH. If the attack connects and deals >0 damage, then she attempts to Blind the monster (5 rounds; -9 BTH). This is currently bugged, and doing two rounds of -10 BTH. The monster takes -20 to its save:

    Level: YourLvl vs MonsterLvl
    Major: YourCHA vs MonsterEND
    Minor: YourLUK vs MonsterLUK

    Wind-element monsters are immune to the Blindness.

    AI:
    If the monster's Darkness resistance *0.95 is > the monster's Wind resistance*0.1265 , then she does the Darkness attack.
    Otherwise, if the monster is already blind, then she does the Darkness attack (since the blindness is ~useless).
    Otherwise, if the mosnter is element Wind, then she does the Darkness attack (since the blindness is useless).
    Otherwise, she does the Wind attack.

    @Blue: You made a mistake with the Eclipsus Moglin. You forgot to half the damage for the 2-hit attack - the damage is total, not per hit.

    No, I wasn't supposed to half anything:
    quote:

    All hits do *2/3 damage (since, on average, the pet has 3/2 hits per round).

    50% chance of a one-hit Melee Darkness attack. It has -4 BTH and deals *85/81 damage.

    50% chance of a two-hit Ranged Darkness attack. Each hit has +1 BTH and deals *85/86 damage. (It's not /2 damage - the # of hits was already accounted for. *points to first line*)

    I just forgot to multiply the attacks by 2/3. Thanks anyway though. :)

    Done. Thanks. ~Scakk

    Guest: Kiveras
    Level: 114

    From: Guardian Summom Kiveras VI Spell
    Obtained from: Eclipsus Cult 3

    Upkeep: 78 MP per turn
    If you do not have enough MP, then she disappears. "Irolustre and Kiveras fly away to help others in need. (Not enough MP: 78MP required)"

    Attack #1: 1 hit Range; Breath Attack

    Attack #2: 1 hit Melee; Horns Attack

    Additional Note: Sometimes Kiveras do not attack and a message saying "There's no opening in the melee for something Kiveras' size to make an attack!"
    Can someone explain why Kiveras does not attack and how to make her attack 100%? Does lowering the monster's defenses with Nerfkitten increase the "opening"?

    [image]http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/9347/kiveras.jpg[/image]

    EDIT: I don't think monster's defenses matter. Using Nerfkitten to lower defenses doesn't help. I think the attack rate of Kiveras is fixed at 50%. But when she does attack, the damage is decent; more than the damage of other guests her level.

    Maybe the rate is 80%?

    It is so contradictory and nonsensical when Kiveras does not attack. "There's no opening in the melee for something Kiveras' size to make an attack!" is a very bad excuse when she hits so well, most other time.[&:] What a pity for a potentially great guest. I thought it would be good to circumvent this problem by making the required levels higher. Currently, the highest non z-token summoned guest is level 120. It's about time for higher level guests. Say level 130 and above.

    to add to the above when the Kiveras guest is used against Irolustre you get the message:

    Irolustre and Kiveras can't fight beside you now--they're on the other side of the battlefield!

    edit:
    Note:

    an explanation of what I said, if you try to summon it you get the above message, nothing happens and the player "wastes" that "attack" or if it is already out in which case it is banished at the start of the battle & you get the above message).
