Nightly -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/12/2009 21:09:07)

I got to level ten at the same time range that you did. Only doing it with the random monsters. So it's more of a personal preference I suppose.

Other_Guy_27 -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/12/2009 21:56:00)

I was just thinking about something: We can't open the Guardian Shop even though you have to be a Guardian to buy anything in it anyway. Apparently they're not even gonna tempt us with the items in the Guardian shop, they're just gonna say "no, you can't even look at our stuff." I guess WarpGuardians are pretty snooty, or at least the one who runs the shop. [:D]

raven of honor -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/13/2009 5:01:14)

Hmm ... I made a vid about the weps that can currently be obtained so ...
Yay! Walkthrough!

rafaelloaa -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/13/2009 5:43:11)

Game is amazing!! level 10 with best of everything.

Any ideas why they have all the token items, WG items, and items for higher levels in the beta test? i mean it was kinda annoying trying to sort through what i could get and what i couldn't get. anyway,

So... you all are ignoring what has been done differently with armors, what's been done differently with guns (AQ weapons like that can't be used as ordinary attacks like the other weapons can), the way quests are organized, and the music? That's not all of them. Those are just the ones that are obvious. It uses AQ's game engine, yes, it was NEVER claimed or hyped otherwise. WF was not over hyped as you were told exactly that it was going to be built off of AQ's game engine. You're either ignoring or overlooking the attributes that differentiate it from AQ.

Saying that WF is the same as AQ is like saying that every turn-based Final Fantasy is the same.

Oops, I guess my first post wasn't at all clear enough. If I may clarify...?

The armors? It may be my ignorance but I don't see any difference in the armors except for their aesthetic aspects. I'm not quite sure what you're talking about, perhaps maybe the options of different attacks that are available? I was under the impression that those choices came from the class picked, as I have changed from Warpforce Gunner, to Retro, to Advanced Retro without finding much change, besides the usual differences between element modifiers and defense stats.

I won't say anything about the guns, as although I chose to be a gunner in WF, I am not a Ranger in AQ, so my knowledge in that area is very limited/close to non-existent.

Quests in WF are now organized into a "table of levels" of sorts... Really isn't that something that needed to be implemented a while ago? It would have saved me a lot of headaches when I started AQ, instead of having to flit backwards and forwards between the forums Q&A thread and the Encyclopedia, I would have enjoyed the "flow" of the game better, so to speak. I do not know if anything else changed with the way the quests are organized except for the abovementioned change.

Music... So far the only evidence I have seen from this is during cutscenes, such as the quest given by Temura. If music were to be a valid point to be considered, from my perspective, I want music to perforate everywhere. Not just cutscenes, or maybe a few select special areas, but in every single aspect of the game. Such as during the Login screen process, the LSS Alteon, the different areas of the LSS Alteon, and during battles, just to name a few. I'm not talking about sound effects, but music. Also music is also, unfortunately, a problem for some when playing WF. Going through the Q&A as well as the Bugs sections, people have often mistaken the extra-long wait for Temura's quest to load as WF freezing, or their internet freezing, instead of knowing that it is actually the music loading. I'm with ADSL, or DSL, and it still took me the better half of the minute to load the entire cutscene, music and all. If I was still with Dial-Up, I can say with complete confidence, that it would have taken me about 15 minutes to load such a large sound file. So with all this said, I propose a system that allows players to choose whether to load music or not to load music.

So, out of all the factors mentioned, I gather that the only possible differences would be the way guns operate, as well as something new that I didn't mention before but was mentioned a lot on the forums was the "Gauntlets" concept. 2 items so far that I have observed which have distinctly different aspects which completely separates them from being another 'carbon-copy, recolored, spruced up, polished' remodel of an AQ feature.

And about my statement about WF being over-hyped... I retract that statement completely, it was made in haste and was thus ill-structured, and in general, simply wrong. So in all sincerity, I apologize for that.

Hagen -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/13/2009 10:33:21)

Invisible aliens beware of the Headless Hunter! <-= CLICK...

Shadz -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/13/2009 10:51:09)

Wow Hagen xD

Alas, im back to working on my three accounts.

-WarpShadow just got level 6
-WarpDestiny is still at level 5
-WarpClaw is still at level 5

mysterious dude -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/13/2009 11:39:39)

level ten on third day of beta.
all the powerful weapons
advanced retro suit
all by the third day.

warp force ftw -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/13/2009 14:12:48)

i got all my stuff by the second day 431 ID ftw

ozey99 -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/13/2009 14:21:59)

[:D] i thin warpforce could be better if the game was based on aqworlds more because then i could chat to my friends while im on warpforce

Shadz -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/13/2009 15:06:30)

Its based after AQ's frames, so no. Too much work anyway :p

If you want to talk, open up AQW. Not hard.

I myself like taking my time. I dont want to rush this, it will just get boring being capped. I guess im doing it fast, but I still have time to check out the forums.

I have 3 characters. Already two are at level 8. I just have to level up one more account to 8 and im finished with my goal today. Tommorow I will go for 3 level 10's. The game is supposed to be fun. Think "DailyQuest" becuase you can do it once a day, its not like you have to farm a lot.

I think im going to start to farm undead sawbot. He seems to be the easiest. I have been looking at all the different monsters(Nechro's still kinda creep me out, specially Dinero and Symboite), but I have to say one of my favorite is the Exo Series. Fish based guys are awesome :p

I cant wait till we start seeing the acutal planets, with all of the same kind. I am most exited to see the Exo planet, but not exactly "exited" per say to see the Nechron planet. The monsters there will be very intererting, but also gruesome.

EDIT:
WarpDestiny is level 9
WarpShadow is level 8
WarpClaw is level 8

EDIT #2:
All three accounts are at level 9 =) All now have sharpened hull scruffer, and now I just have to do it tommorow

legomaster00156 -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/13/2009 22:48:44)

Haha, I have an AE Upgrade Card ready so I can become a WarpGuardian on the very first day of the full release.[:D]

Shadowwalker -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/13/2009 23:46:27)

lol same here legomaster[:D]

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/14/2009 0:56:41)

here is a friendly suggestion from your friendly neighborhood cryptonaught dragonnightwolf.

If you are going to mention armors, weapons or places from warpforce. Please do so with a spoiler tag.
I would prefer to see things with my own two eyes and since I am obviously not a upgraded player, I would ask very politely for members to show us non members at least "that" small favor.

Thank you very much and have a wonderful tomorrow.

vuu_ming -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/14/2009 1:12:28)

@Legomaster & Shadowwalker: Haha, True that, looks like us, and SOME other lucky few...or BUNCH will already be able to to become a Warpguardian as soon as it is released! (With purchase of an AE upgrade card of course!) And, better yet it would be so COOL if we had FOUNDER status along with it?! But, all I know is, CAN'T WAIT!!![:D]

Lord Athor -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/14/2009 4:26:20)

Oh I'm definately going to upgrade as soon as it's released too. I wonder if it's going to be strictly like AQ or if there'll be an account upgrade option like in DF and MQ (probably not) I wonder if ther'll be a Guardian Gun too and what that might look like....

Btw, does anyone else find it strange that the laser pistols are of water element when the description says "No smoke or fire... Just a nice, clean focused beam of light!" It's make more sense if it was light element (or the description said "beam of water" insted)

Hagen -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/14/2009 5:26:47)

I guess the elements may change in WF eg.: water =-> laser.

I'm going to go with it passes through an elemental filter. It splashes on impact like Water.

Shadz -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/14/2009 8:30:07)

I have a new goal.

5 level 10's =D Crazy aint I.

First three accounts(WarpShadow, WarpDestiny, and WarpClaw) are at level 9, 10 or so undead sawbots till 10
Last two accounts(WarpQueen and WarpTalon) are at level 0, yet to be started.

A funny little tidbit. When Undaed Sawbot enters when talking to zorbaz, he has one arm. During battle he has two :p

8:52 WarpShadow leveled to 10 =)

Darius -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/14/2009 10:27:36)

What weirds me out about the laser pistol is that it ejects a bullet shell casing when it's fired. Laser weapons are supposed to be pulses of photons powered by a battery, not ballistic rounds loaded from a magazine.

Shadz -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/14/2009 10:41:00)

Empty Battery maybe?

Bunch of stuff dont make sense in this :p

brianspenceni -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/14/2009 10:53:23)

@nighly, I've two level 10 characters - the second one took 2 1/2 hours because of the zorboz technique. The first one I levelled to about 7 or 8 using random battles and it took about 5 hours, so it's definitely not as quick in my experience - plus, zorboz was averaging out at noticeably more gold.

By the way, was the light gun (osprey 10b,I think it's called) bullffed during beta - or is that my complete imagination?

Darius -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/14/2009 12:23:42)

It used to be fire, it was changed to light. It also used to be slightly weaker than it is now, but it got a buff. I'm not sure what you mean by "bulled".

Aelthai -> RE: =WF= Beta Release is Live! III (7/14/2009 14:03:22)

If you were fighting the Undead Sawbot right after release ... you were getting rewards that are not consistent with the rest of the rewards out there. This was fixed the following day.

We most assuredly WILL include puzzles.

I am unaware of any intention to do this in AQ with the exception of in very specific instances. Quests in AQ are rarely linear and level based. This DOES represent a fundamental change.

There are MASSIVE changes to armors and many other things besides. Unfortunately details need to be kept a bit more to the breast for now.
