not1but2 -> have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (2/17/2010 13:44:59)

there are very few people out of an entire country worth of people who play right now....what happened?

Technomancer -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (2/17/2010 13:56:34)

1 game is hardly representative for all of AE. ;)

WF only has 1 release per month, still limited content and a *low* level cap. Once you're done with the release, have all items for your level and you hit the cap, I imagine that there isn't much to keep you playing.

But: WF is only in the early stages. Once the game gets more content, I believe the playerbase will certainly expand. Just watch the number skyrocket when a new release is out. :P

Late edit: Also remember that AE has players from all over the world. Of course not every one of them is going to be active right now (due to school, work, ... ).

Alternia -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (2/17/2010 17:45:09)

I'm not playing often because of a few factors.

Firstly, there is one release a month. It doesn't keep me "hooked" to the game, but I do try to help on the forums.

Secondly, I'm busy in real life. RL always takes precedence over a game.

Lord of Nightmares -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (2/17/2010 22:35:13)

I've already hit the current level cap, and I'm playing AQ, DF, MQ, AQW and ED simultaneously as well (or at least trying to), so this has the lowest priority for me. I'll definitely participate in the new war coming out on Friday though.

Sunutsu -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (2/23/2010 17:03:33)

I don't really play warpforce that much either anymore. Usually when a realese i'll play warpforce for a while then eventually get tired because i usually finish everything. I can understand why they do it once a month because they run 4 other games and that a lot of work to do.

Gage McBlackwood -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (2/23/2010 18:05:56)

Nonsense, WF is merely an expansion of AQ, it's not even considered a seperate game by AE. Judging all AE games on the performance of a "quasi-game" is silly.

jackle485 -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/6/2010 15:31:46)

@Gage McBlackWood
I completely agree

CODTim -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/6/2010 15:58:16)

for a game that barely 1 year old, 300 people to be online all the time is very good. AE games are the bets out there[:)]

veneeria -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/14/2010 16:31:01)

honestly, i have been bored of the other ae games.. just moved to warpforce a couple of days ago.. and i must say that i am rather surprised at this game.. it is actuality GREAT once you've played once.
Though, the slow updates are boring. It would be fun if sometimes the WF team would make some events.. especially when they don't release new items or alike.

MonsterMike9000 -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/14/2010 20:49:38)

Imagine if the entire AE staff decided to work on WF, and WF only? There should be a special event like that, when everyone gets their heads together. :P

Shirefolk -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/14/2010 21:52:22)

I hope the AE team won't forever treat WF like an expansion pack, because if they are getting players to shell out $20.00 for a game that doesn't even qualify for a team's full attention... [:(] Besides, WF has a lot to offer, what with being in a boundless environment.

The Braken Bard -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/18/2010 7:19:27)

@Shirefolk: $10 if they have upgraded in another game already.

BlueKatz -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/18/2010 7:44:19)

I really really like WF, but I'm a bit busy now. I think that's because other AE game take a lot of time

Galanoth -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/18/2010 11:36:48)

The AQ team has been working about twice as hard since the start of WF ;) And trust me when I say that no one is getting paid anything remotely what they deserve for the extra effort. Some of the contributing team is totally volunteer, as well. So we're not doing this for love of money-- WF is 100% for the enjoyment of the AQ fans who want something awesome and new in a different setting.

Since WF wasn't made with a new engine, we decided to launch it as an expansion and offer it as a special deal to players who have upgraded in an AE game already, thus the $10 special. Considering the monthly updates, bonus WarpGuardian missions and items, and extended level cap, that $10 is probably the single best deal in online gaming at the moment.

CODTim -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/19/2010 13:52:54)

^ i agree, $10 for all that is very good, on another online game i play, it costs £260 to upgrade and you dont get alot for £260

Digital X -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/19/2010 14:24:54)

260 quid?? I'd stick to WF If I were you.

CODTim -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/19/2010 14:27:26)

^ Yes, its very expensive[:D] i will stick to Warpfore

Branan -> RE: have AE games gone nearly not worth it? (3/23/2010 21:48:55)

I'm currently only level 7, and yet i played in beta. As far as I'm concerned Warpforce has tons of content and i'm personally never bored. I'll oftee lose pace in DF or in AQ and then all of a sudden all the "good" equipment has gone rare and all you have left is "Average" equipment. In this game I don't have to worry about it because it moves at a much slower pace, so when i get on i can have a good time and not fret and fuss over what i could've gotten. In reality WF is probably the best deal on the internet for casual players simply because you won't be left behind. So yes AE games are worth it if we're using WF or any other game of theirs as a model.
