Craft Discussion Official Rules In order to keep Craft Duscussion in good order, there are important rules to follow. Below are these rules. Failure to follow them can result in punishment starting with a warning, thread deletion and locking, or leading to a permanent ban from the forums. Craft Discussion is meant enhance the writing of others and provide differing points of view by, well, discussion of the craft. The "Legends and Lore" Boards are a part of the Artix Entertainment Forums: you must follow the Universal Rules. The Universal Rules are exactly that: Universal. They apply everywhere, at all times, so even L&L participants are expected to know and follow them. Note that claiming ignorance to rules is not a defense for breaking themall forum members are expected to read the rules before posting anywhere. If you have questions about the Universal Rules and how they relate with rules specific to Legends and Lore, please contact Master Samak, the Head Moderator for Legends and Lore, or any forum administration staff via a forum PM. When contributing to Legends and Lore, write properly. Grammar exists so that your writing can be understood by all. Ignore grammar, and few will intuit how to follow along with your writing without working really, really, really hard at it, and that tends to lose readers' interest. Therefore, to make your posts easier and more enjoyable to read, use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Make sure to insert paragraph breaks so that your post does not show as a single wall of text. (Walls of text are a pain to decipher and will make it all the harder to understand you.) Your comments and content can be valuable to readers and writers alike. If they struggle to comprehend what you're writing, you get in your own way. All discussion thread titles must be prefaced by a tag. The tags are as follows: =SCRIPT=, =MECH=, =AUTH=, =CHAR=, =PROSE=, =VERSE= =SCRIPT= This tag covers the method, technique, detail, setting, etc. regarding script-writing. =MECH= The mechanics of writing. This includes specific techniques certain authors use, the editing process from first draft to ready-to-be-published form, creation of plotlines, grammar discussion, or style mechanics both in prose and verse. =AUTH= Discussion about authors, their works, their techniques, and how they compare to others. =CHAR= The discussion of character archetypes, individual characters, and effective characterization. (Multiple characters being talked about from the same book or poem may go under =PROSE= or =VERSE=.) =PROSE= Discussion on text, style of paragraphs, sentence structures, the formula of a chapter, etc. =VERSE= Discussion on poetry, highlighted quotes, type of poetry, song lyrics, and their adaptation to music. Conduct all discussion with maturity. Participating in a discussion is a privilege. Anyone using discussions as a way to push their work, advertise, or thread-hijack will be disciplined. Entertainment literature discussions are now moved to the Out Of Context Board. Because this is a writing forum, the discussion of literature as a form of entertainment does not belong here. If that is what you want to do, please visit the OOC's forum section and post your discussions. If an issue arises within L&L (be it clarification of the rules, an issue with a specific user, or reporting rule violations), the following is a list of individuals to contact: If you wish to report threads in violation of the rules, contact any L&L ArchKnight. If you have an issue with an ArchKnight, please contact the head moderator of this forum.
