Acient J -> RE: Regarding the Community (2/21/2011 14:52:24)

I use "Good game :)" instead. I don't use it when they've asked to win, or called me a noob, or told me to stop saying it. What I really don't like is when it's obvious that people do it automatically. For example, someone is flaming you the entire battle (enough for a report), loses, and says "gg." As far as the community being rude, I've gotten a mix of players. There are people who do not chat, period. Perhaps their parents are watching, or they are focused on their win record, or any number of reasons that I'm fine with. These people do not bother me. There are people who respond friendlily whether they're being beaten, winning, or lagging. These people brighten my playing experience. (For a well-known example, Fay Beee is one of them.) There are people who automatically try to set rules for the battle, usually "no heal." I ignore them. I would love to heal myself just to tick them off, but when I play my game normally I don't need to. Then there are the really rude people. I do my best to ignore them, and I report flooding only if they keep at it. The best thing anyone can do to help the community is by being the better player. Don't let these people rain on your parade. If you start calling them "noob" and whatnot, you just stooped to their level.
