Defiant -> Membership (4/18/2011 19:34:44) Should there be membership with this game? I think most people will say no, varium is fine because if you buy varium it generally gives you the edge, however membership might be a nice addition for quests and areas (member-only quests and areas). I think it would be good, but the big problem would be the cost; the monthly fee. Many avid AE players are members on AQW, therefore paying monthly fees for membership. Soon, the same will apply to HeroSmash. People might feel left out if they can only afford membership for one game.

I don't mind most AE games; AQ, DF, MQ - they all have one time payments that aren't expensive, therefore I have all of them. Monthly fees are something I dislike however. I played Runescape from very little ages (8+) and when my mum stopped paying for my subscription I was using almost all the money I had on that membership. I'm fairly young, therefore affording all these things is a stretch. 1 time payments; good. Monthly subscriptions; bad.
