Silent Scream -> New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 15:56:52)

I dont really 2v2 that much on my main character but i do however do it alot on my BH character

I hate it when my partner leaves.. with a passion

I know that sometimes they get disconnected and cannot help it but its those people who leave you to die when they dont think your going to win or just cant be botherd to stick around long enough to find out

Im pretty sure there is no repercussions for leaving your partner to there doom, but i do think there should be one.. at the moment if they leave, all they get is a loss i believe unless they get disconnected and you are made to suffer the same for them leaving..

Maybe there should be some sort of Loyalty points system where it gets deducted for leaving and adds for staying

I dont think its fair at all to have to take a loss just because your partner decides they dont like the look of things from the start of the match

What could be done about this?

All the best
- Silent

i support this because you know im a 2 vs 2 player and i really hate when my partner leaves everytime time

xxmirxx -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:03:29)

Back in beta time that would happen to me 9 out of 10 times. thanks to them they made stats so bad that there was no way get my wins back.

veneeria -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:04:03)

Sounds reasonable, why not?
Perhaps there could be also a system to return/earn loyalty? like every battles finished without leaving, the player gets "loyalty points".
And as a bonus to encourage players to not leave, perhaps there could be achievements for this.

Agiluz -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:18:51)

They might have All-time Loyalty Leaders too better than fame imo[:D]

Calogero -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:25:01)

why not a wait system like most online games have..

when a Partner leaves, the game looks for people that are trying to do 2 vs 2 within levelrange

Vick Vega -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:27:38)

Or random kick one opponent
[;)]

Ashari -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:30:09)

It can't be anything too punishing. Some players do have bad internet connections and they will disconnect on occasion. If you start punishing them while they're trying to deal with lag or a bad connection then that might drive them away.

veneeria -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:37:29)

i like andy123's idea, but what happens during the time of wait? Perhaps while waiting, one of the players from the other team is obligated to be frozen until someone else comes.
Though Loyalty is something more logical, i am not seeing, in a middle of war, 100 soldier "stop attacking"* because their enemies have less 100 soldiers than them..lol

*stop attacking, but also cannot be attacked.

goldslayer1 -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:40:50)

u can still clucth the fight if ur allowed to do 2 moves instead of one if ur partner leaves.
or if he gets 1 turned

enemy goes first
*aux crit*
*partner's turn gets skipped*
enemy goes again without us having a turn
*aux again and partner dies*

voidance -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:41:30)

I have always thought that Jagex's Arcanist game has had a great idea for this problem.(Btw they are the makers of Runescape, this is just one of their other games) When a player leaves or dies in a 2v2 the remaing player gets double turns.

For example: Me(Devils Advocate.)&Ashari VS Venneria&Vick Vega get into a fight and Ashari leaves, so now its Venneria's turn, then mine, then Vick Vega, the mine, then Venneria, then mine, and same process untill I die or win.

Nebula -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:41:35)

Why not, when a partner leaves, the player left gets 2 turns every round? So it would be player 1, then player 2, then player 1, then player 3. Would that make it fair? :o

thats what i said.

@nebula
what i said aswell. or what i meant
and i did suggest this a long time ago aswell, i guess they must have not seen it.

voidance -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:45:27)

Well yours would be Oped, imagine if you could attack and heal in the same turn. Atleast with the way i suggested your double turn is split somewhat.

EDIT: also, we all posted these messages at the same time, so that was kinda ironic.

veneeria -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 16:47:01)

@nebula: It makes things easier but doesn't change the fact is at the opponents advantage.

2 turns as in 2 turns in that round.
for example
ur player 1
player 1 goes first
player2 second
player 1 third
player 3 forth.

like that = 2 turns

Silent Scream -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/26/2011 17:25:37)

I also like andy123's.. But it would only be good if the player leaves at the start of the fight, as if the match is half way done and a player leaves.. it would pick a new player and would be unfair to the other team unless he got his HP halfed or something like that

Also.. this could be a good reason to add "Surrender" options to the game

Because as Ashari pointed out, people do get disconnect and it would be unfair to them.. so lets say if you click this Surrender button then you take the hit of points

But again there would be a way around this of just clicking refresh.. which you know some people will do

That's a GREAT idea. SUPPORTED.

* -1 fame when you leave a 2-2 combat. ( by refreshing, or by a disconnect, of course no penalty if you die before).

* Ban four 1 hour from 2-2. They can still play 1-1, where they can disconnect at will without punishing the other player, be it from a bad internet connection or from a poor build.
If you have an internet connection so bad they you get disconnect often, well don't play 2-2, your ruining the other fun.

* Give control of a copy of the player character (who disconnected), to the player who his still playing the 2-2 battle.

vinchuan -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/27/2011 4:18:49)

I LOVE THE IDEA 2 thingos up, but only if they leave b4 being killed, not if they get killed

Polandor -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/27/2011 4:35:46)

Off course, I edited my post for more clarity.

Shadronica -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/27/2011 5:51:06)

A friend was discussing 2v2 with me yesterday. He doesn't 2v2 very often but it was something he said to me about his partner running from the battle and mentioned a particular faction that the partner was from. This particular faction was more than questionable about 6-7 months ago.

I am certainly hoping that this faction and a few of its members that left it and started a new faction are not up to their old tricks.

I do understand that players get disconnected but it happens so very much more in 2v2 than 1v1.

Nehal007 -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/27/2011 6:37:20)

Yeah ryt there shud b loyalty record.......h8 the way they leave
even when u r gonna win the fights dey do it out of ego

Luna_moonraider -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/27/2011 6:46:46)

@Shadronica
it happen more often in 2v2 because 4 diffrent players are united into 1 battle 4 diffrent player means more lag. lets say i m from asia my partner is from the united states and 1 of my enemy is from europe and the other enemy is from russia there would be a huge lag because it takes time so send our comands to the server.

back to topic:

like the idea btw. loyalty point can help but it seem useless because it jst tell if a person would stay in a 2v2 match or leave. i rather the lose fame instead( not when u dc but when u refresh or go afk for more than 3 turns in 2v2 yes i hate those afk people i wonder y they click 2v2 in the first place when they r just gonna stand there and do nothing).

Dc cant be avoided in 2v2. people leaving the 2v2 is a big problem since early beta. they removed the run button because of people just love to run because they have useless partners or miss clicked 2v2 but now people refresh or simply click settings and switch servers (it works btw i have tried it with my alt when my parter decided to become afk) to go out of the battle. speaking of afk partners. how do we solve this problem of afk partners in 2v2. my solution to this is to kick the afk person and replace him with another guy. same goes with the running partner. if a person partner runs a new guy autometically join the battle(he need to be in the lvl range i would not want to see a lvl 1 suddenly apearing beside me whne my partners goes missing).

Polandor -> RE: New System For 2v2 (Partners Leaving) (4/27/2011 7:21:12)

When someone miss a turn in 2-2, the other player gain control of the character.

I redo right away the missing turn (so no turn his missed).
The afk player lose control of the combat for the remaining of the battle.
