Count von Tilly -> A couple of radical ideas (4/29/2011 20:41:08)

Please do not take these as demands, but rather as earnest suggestions for improvements. I did not post this in the suggestions thread since it didn't seem to fit in any of the existing categories there.

1) Reducing credit prices for all nonvarium items by 20-40%; major purpose: to close the gap between nonvars and vars

The recent price reduction for credit enhancements appears to be a move in the right direction, but many f2ps are still unable to buy them since f2ps are constantly saving for new weapons, esp the lvl 28 armor. Therefore, f2ps often use obsolete equipment while saving up, and often stick to monotonous builds since they dont want to pay to retrain and use a more unique build. By reducing credit prices for nonvarium items, f2ps not only have more variety, also are able to use enhancements, providing more of a challenge towards p2ps (instead of a 0.1% chance of winning against p2ps, it could be a 5% chance). This way, f2ps can be buffed without directly buffing their weapons, generating less controversy than directly buffing them would, presenting a neater solution. p2ps can still maintain their advantage (95% chance of winning), but f2ps would no longer be relegated to being "free wins".

2) Epicduel membership.

every other AE game has it.
ED membership could be a onetime or periodic payment, maybe give elites and founders free and unlimited membership.
-acess to member only server- victory rewards are 25-100% greater or something
-credit price discounts (but no varium discount)
-member only challenge npcs that give huge rewards
-item drop rate boost
-and more!

Membership is not likely to disrupt varium payments, they will supplement them, increasing profit.

These ideas seemed sound when they came to mind, but maybe I was brushed by a stroke of naivete that time, so what do you think about them?

I like your ideas, definitely the non-V's should have a little love once in a while.

Your first suggestion would fit well in the Functionality Suggestions thread while your second idea fits in the Feature/Interface Suggestions thread.

Since this is a suggestion, please consider posting them in the above two links. Thanks ^^

Locking up.
