ProjectXanatos -> (MQ) Bloodline: Age X (5/31/2011 16:46:51)

Prologue

"The Elders are almost gone . . . aren't they? There is nothing that we can do, except..."
A figure, swathed in a cloak of white, stood by the command board, facing a large, circular tube. It held the dark silhouette of a naked man, curled up protectively as he floated in the clear liquids. Wires protruded from his chest and forehead, quietly reading the vital signs for the figure in white.
"Heart rate: 80 bp/ms. Heart and lung readings are . . . nominal," a voice sounded from the console. A smile flickered across the figure's lips, and strode forward. However, no steps were taken; instead, the figure glided effortlessly to the test-tube.
"And the readings for the amount of Bio-EX in his system?" the figure asked.
"... .. .... Readings are maximized. Would you like to release the project early, Doctor?"
The figure shook its head, "No, not yet. Project X . . . isn't ready."
Then, as if on cue, an alarm blared loudly, red lights flashing urgently as the figure looked around. "No! Not yet..." the figure murmured, and cursed quietly.
"In the current event of facility breach, please input release codes for Project X, Doctor!" the voice seemed to become alarmed and hurried as the figure turned and spoke into the microphone.
"Xigis-Nine-Nine-Zero," the figure said. The sound of steam being released was heard and the tube became loose as the latches around it let go. Beneath the tube, the floor slowly opened up until it fell through the floor. The door in front of the figure was ripped open... the gleaming shine of a crimson, robotic eye looked through the torn door, and roared loudly as the figure in white took a step back.
"Psychological advancement: 115%. Approximate age . . . twenty years of age." the voice said, winding down to its monotonous speech.
The eye roared in annoyance, and a steel tendril shot out and wrapped itself around the figure, clenching tightly as the ribs of broken ribs were heard.
"Sorry . . . but you cannot have him," the figure said, blood trickling down. "He will be the start of an age of heroes. The bloodline of Lineage X starts . . . now."
Another sickening crack and the figure fell to the floor, and the hood slid from the figure's visage to reveal a young woman with dark auburn hair, and dying eyes of gray.
The machine was indeed angry; not only had it not stopped the creation of Project X, but its master had no clue as to the wherabouts of the tube. The sky darkened as it flew off, hoping to release some of its rage on an unsuspecting ship...
