well, what would u do?
i would drain them back but if i dont have enough energy, i'll just attack endlessly.

I always carry a mp booster, so i use that.

But its more to it then that.

You use all your powerful attacks first and use the mp booster while their in cool down for full efectiveness. Some people tend to think that you have to have your energy back as soon as you loose it. you should always think to step in advance eg. 1 cool down away from healing again use the mp booster rather then waiting and missing the oportunity to get a heal in intime

I would have extra MP on a BH because they can't get energy back. So after they drain you, you drain them back with enough left for smoke or something.

Well 1st off draining energy also costs the caster energy (if that person were to be Merc/TLM) making it somewhat disadvantageous for him aswell.
2nd Almost every class has reroute or something that allows them to get back some energy so it's not much of a big deal :)

Being a Mercenary, I can't regenerate energy so I just use a very flexible strategy. Unless you can drain 31 energy from me, I won't be effected much.

Energy Drain (especially EMP grenade) is very useful and shouldn't be underestimated. If you have a decent drain (34-37+ energy) you will cripple a build in most cases even if they have reroute. Also even if they energy boost, you get a free warm up for skills like massacre, putting the battle in your favor. It's a win-win strategy, and if your a Bounty/Cyber Hunter it's very effective on support/tank Tactical Mercenaries.

yup and its soo pleasing. high five wiseman. it kills any strategy and for such low cost as well then if you throw on technician. wow that 34-37 turns to like 40-43

well Emp really should drain your Energy. It should be more like... free with a extra warm up on another gernade weapon. Or give it a warm up two turn thing.

On topic: If they did it would be no biggie because for one energy is just a simple thing that is a tool to help me win. Its not exatly needed i should say. Its just a thing to help me dish out damage when i should strike. :)

On a more serious note: *coughs*

I would do one of the following:

1. Improvise. Most of my builds don't require that much energy, so it isn't too difficult changing my strategy.
2. Energy boost. Only if really necessary; I don't like boosting too often, after all. I heard energy drinks are bad for you.
3. If my current class at that particular time had one, I'd steal their energy back. Unless I knew it was futile.

Draining their energy back is usually option number one for me. That's a good way to stop any strategy they had planned as well.

If I'm not playing a Tech Mage, I'll usually use an Energy Booster. Many people that rely on EMP or Atom Smasher don't really have a backup plan in case you get your energy back. The 25 energy from the booster is usually enough to turn the duel around. If I'm a Tech Mage, I can usually hold off until I have enough Energy for a heal. Energy drain builds aren't the highest damage builds, so starting up a heal loop is very doable as both a Tech Mage and TLM.

I'm probably one of the very few TM's that does not use Assimilation, as i do not find it "that" helpful, i normally just take the hits and get my MP back that way, and i never use boosters in 1v1 for mp, only boss fights.

I like using energy draing skill like using atom smasher. Its most useful skill at the moment for me.

Well, i Usually carry a E boost and a Low EMP So if they Emp me i use E boost then Emp. and i still have my heal/Smoke/Reflex Boost.

As a blood Mage, there isn't really much to do except to try and take advantage of the turn that they used to energy drain
