The problem is obviously - *realizes he is not allowed to talk about finances in any way* - um... we don't advertise enough?

well...
aqw is a game that anyone can play with out skill and has a lot of customization with in the game and you dont have to pay money to get good items

ed is a game that fully needs skill and without buying varium you are lost in the void.

so thats why aqw has 15000 to eds 1500 players a day (well at one time dont really kno whats they day amount is and dont ask me to do that lol.)

AQW is an easy to play and get into Adventure MMORPG that gives players TONS of stylish options and the ability to team up with others across the globe and go on adventures. Also I might add there is TONS to do for your average player.

Good rule of thumb for a company to sell something is to make it easy to buy. They succeeded with that game whereas epicduel requires a lot more thought and more of a learning curb most don't want to put the time into. Also once they face there first full varium player they will feel like they never stand a chance and quit instantly.

I think if they could combine a game like AQW and ED they would be HUGE. AQW's adventure and customization along with ED's PVP and you got yourself a game for the ages xD

There is no inherent 'purpose' or 'direction' in EpicDuel; the aim is merely to level up till level 33, and win for the sake of winning. AQW is quest-based and storyline-oriented, and monsters often have drops; there are multiple targets in AQW, which make the game attractive and fun.

Furthermore in AQW, gameplay is easy; you can just enjoy the storyline, and once you are assimilated well enough in AQW, enjoy quests and attaining drop items. In ED, the odds are very good that you get beaten badly in your first battle; not a particularly encouraging way to start. Furthermore, as I said, the only real enjoyment in ED is battling; which many younger players do not have the skill or experience to do well or even enjoyably.

Lack of advertising is another important factor; I have not seen ED advertisements even in AE Ballyhoo ads; hopefully this is duly addressed.

Midnightsoul -> RE: adventure quest and epicduel (9/7/2011 1:54:43)

ed has alot of stats and all that. very advanced but doesnt have an actual storyline

aqw is fun but its more of a dress up game and u really just get the same enhancements

LatinLover/Martini -> RE: adventure quest and epicduel (9/7/2011 2:39:31)

The problem is consistancy. People want order of when updates happen and they want them to happen when they are said too, and when those updates come around, the update might not appeal to all players causing some to think it was a bad update and they get to the point where they retire.

Gold -> RE: adventure quest and epicduel (9/7/2011 2:41:28)

Do you really have to bring up a discussion about it to get an answer?

AQW is an MMO. ED is also one, but it's primarily PvP-oriented. You either win a lot or lose a lot. So you can have varying degrees of enjoyment.

Baron Dante -> RE: adventure quest and epicduel (9/7/2011 3:25:29)

Why is the title referring to a different game (AQ) than the topic is about? (AQW)

Anyways. The difference comes easily from the fact that they are completely different type of games. Durr.

TurkishIncubus -> RE: adventure quest and epicduel (9/7/2011 12:30:26)

AE like AQW more than ED thats the total problem , AQW is like their own child and ED is like adopted.AQW has more developers + there is commercial of AQW every where but there is not any for ED

First of all you need to find AQW from commercials then you need to look to the right menu to see other AE games , in my opinion thats the biggest problem.

Basicball -> RE: adventure quest and epicduel (9/7/2011 13:40:32)

don't forget: AQW's older then ED

Dendavex -> RE: adventure quest and epicduel (9/7/2011 14:01:55)

wtf ED was made in 2008 around october just like aqw ?

Basicball -> RE: adventure quest and epicduel (9/7/2011 14:30:36)

no, AQW was in beta in october 2008, ED only was in december 2009

Giras Wolfe -> RE: adventure quest and epicduel (9/7/2011 16:55:25)

I've though about it for a while. I think the difference is that Epicduel requires intelligence, strategy, and above all patience. This kind of misses a large chunk of the online gamer target market (twelve year olds) and an even larger chunk of AE. No offense to AQW, but it's a no-brainer. Battle strategy is still easy. You don't have to plan how you spend your money as carefully. Your main opponents are computers and not other players so battles are easier. And basicball is right, AQW is older, more well-developed, and more widely advertized. Also, due to their huge player base they can demand very little funding per customer.

I think the smaller target audience, more difficult gameplay, and simply how much lower scale this game is than AQW right now would explain the difference.
