CHOSEN II!!!!

Reaper Sigma -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/15/2012 14:40:36)

Currently at my uncle's house. I have internet access, but it's not exactly fast. Back in about two days.

Arthur -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/16/2012 4:04:28)

Hmm...

Even as I work on Spiritfall, I am thinking of rebooting Regaliours, and this time, not as the Assassin Knights, but as their former selves, before they became AKs.

What do you guys think?

kim346 -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/16/2012 23:47:56)

Alas, will be gone Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday EST next Week.

@^Sure! Why not?

kkutwar -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/18/2012 0:20:12)

Hey, just a quick question: Are Neon Genesis Evangelion games allowed here?

Un67 -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/18/2012 9:45:27)

I've never heard of games on any specific subject outright banned, except ones that would be pretty obvious.

Arthur -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/18/2012 11:45:38)

I believe they are Kkut, but as Un said, try NOT to rip off 3/4th of the content from there.

I'll work on Regaliours as well. I think I'll add in special content for returning players.

liamliam1234liam -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/18/2012 12:09:04)

I never really liked that practice. Kind-of screws over new players/decreases their interest. It is one of the major reasons I never got into the Wrath games. When everyone is getting some kind of bonus for being in the previous games, it makes you feel disadvantaged (because you are).

Arthur -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/18/2012 12:37:50)

Hmm...
Just an afterthought. Wouldn't want to indulge in favoritism.

Kosefira -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/19/2012 13:51:33)

Yeah, that was probably one of the biggest ways I restricted Wrath to loyal players only. If you want to keep a larger player base, keep applications open and try to maintain a level playing field.

Un67 -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/19/2012 14:05:15)

@liam I feel that it is a bit ironic for you to say that considering all of the bonuses you have gotten in FK:III. [8|]

Arthur -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/19/2012 14:09:50)

Hmm... I understand.

However, I believe that even if I put all the mechanics in place and make 'em innovative and flashy, I somehow don't know sometimes that how is it that I am supposed to take the story forward with each update.

I really need help there.

liamliam1234liam -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/19/2012 14:21:09)

Nah. It sucks from the outside, rocks from the inside. XD

Un67 -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/19/2012 15:21:01)

@Arthur Dragonlord

I really have to sympathize with you, creating an actual plot and having each update be relevant to it is one of the hardest parts of creating a (good) game. I have struggled with this myself. How can I create an interesting storyline and have it go from beginning to end without putting everything on rails? The solution, I've found, is to first get an idea of what major moments will define the story and must be reached at some point. For example, an introduction sequence, a final battle against a boss, a turning point in the plot, a major plot point being revealed... all things that would count as major story-defining moments. In between these moments, however, you must decide how you can go from moment to moment. Here is where you should be flexible, and take into account the actions of the players. This way you can both keep the story moving forward at all times without resorting to railroading the players.

@liam

...which is precisely why it is so tempting to include such a system.

WA -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/19/2012 23:32:21)

It can help to imagine it sort of like a TV show. You usually have a bunch of episodes all of which contain some hints of the plot, but usually only a few will be directly forwarding the main plot. Most are just regular adventure-of-the-day sort of stuff which might, say, show some backstory or reveal an important fact or two, leading up to a finale which is central to the game's plot, and all the finales lead up to one final showdown/series finale.

Arthur -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/20/2012 0:00:59)

Thanks guys!

That helps a lot. Now I have a better layout of ideas. Now let's see how stuff happens.

@All Regaliour players and stalkers, I got a question for you guys. Same bio format or overhaul?

Game's slated to release early September.

Un67 -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/23/2012 14:08:02)

Do any of you know how to hide edits?

Superemo -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/23/2012 14:31:48)

Type a color tag with the color set to #EEEEEE.

WA -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/23/2012 15:37:35)

Put

at the end of your post with no closing

tag, then the edit will be invisible colored

For example:

Uhh, Supes kinda got you beat.

WA -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/23/2012 16:36:39)

Yeah, but he didn't say to put it at the end of the post.

Validate me, dammit.

Un67 -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/23/2012 16:52:52)

Well both you failed to properly demonstrate so your points are invalid ;)

Heroic Necro -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/25/2012 23:58:59)

Just a heads up, I live in an area that Isaac will most definatly hit, so I may or may not fall off the face of the earth for a few days.

Astroking112 -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/26/2012 1:55:17)

Summer has ended for me, so I'm busier than usual. Updates on my games may be slower, but I'll try my best to be on time.

Reaper Sigma -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (8/27/2012 19:01:56)

Back from my relative's house. Update for Fallen King soon-ish, then I'll probably be inactive for a while. School is starting, and I need to prepare.
