But variety!

You already have mental and chaotic elemental. "Orderly magic"? Unnecessary.

Also, I would prefer an A&R. An A&R would also be more manageable.

DA Holder67 -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/12/2013 21:23:08)

That's what I was thinking. FSGs are tough, and effort isn't really my forte.

@WA: Will there be set characters or just set classes?

WA -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/12/2013 23:25:08)

To clarify, there will be one person per class, and they will make their own character.

Heroic Necro -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/13/2013 2:03:30)

What do you mean by "orderly magic?" Is it more utility spells, the sorts you see in Harry Potter?

Also I suggest Paladin

WA -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/13/2013 13:13:06)

Orderly magic means that you would have a list of spells you could cast, and each spell has one specific thing that it does. As for paladin, I would rather minimize any sort of divine intervention, so a Paladin would be almost exactly the same as a Knight.

kkutwar -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/15/2013 10:32:57)

Would Orderly Magic involve healing, because if not you could give Healing Spells to the Paladin.

Un67 -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/15/2013 14:54:05)

I've always preferred the laissez-faire "let people create whatever they want with limitations" and its always worked out for me.

liamliam1234liam -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/16/2013 20:21:04)

See, precise spells are boring. Kill the wizard! Burn him!

Lord Darkblade -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/16/2013 21:02:45)

NO! Wizards are needed to counter act the chaotic sorcerers.

liamliam1234liam -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/16/2013 21:10:40)

Nope.avi.

Heroic Necro -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/16/2013 21:23:06)

That's what a tinker is for

Tinkers are not a replacement for wizards. If you have sorcerers then you have to have wizards to keep cosmic balance.

1girlhousefan -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/17/2013 6:25:44)

Why not rename the Sorcerer into Wizard and get rid of the "orderly magic" one. Then we could reduce a class and LDB can have his wizards.

Lord Darkblade -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/17/2013 6:33:33)

*facepalm* I've arguing that both Wizard and Sorcerer are both required for cosmic balance.

kkutwar -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/17/2013 6:46:29)

Well, Wizards are trained magic users while Socerrors have innate talent. Thus, Wizards have a wider pool of magic while Socerrors are better skilled with a fixed set. Though, pure Wild Magic sounds like fun. Still, I think it would be fitting to have a semi-magical Melee class like Paladin or Magic Knight.

RE: Wizards vs Sorcerer. I prefer Magi. *slinks away*

I support implement of hybrid classes, through.

Lord Darkblade -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/17/2013 11:56:35)

Wizards are trained specialists meaning that are focused, not a wide variety, sorcerers are the wide variety. Also I will play as either the sorcerer, assassin, or mentalist.

Blatantly false.

Statements like that are absolutely ludicrous. There are no set fantasy rules. Do whatever makes sense. And since orderly spells are boring, and having two very similar magic users is unnecessary, kill the wizard.

Lord Darkblade -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/17/2013 20:13:37)

Cosmic balance is a very real thing, karma is an example of it, luck, magic has it too, if the magic is used too chaotically the magic will become more erratic than the spell casters are used to, if there is to much order it becomes harder to casts spells as it slowly becomes science, so keep both, and remove beast-master.

...
Magic is not real.

1girlhousefan -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/17/2013 21:32:40)

And that has started to matter?

Heroic Necro -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/17/2013 21:34:39)

Cosmic balance doesn't mean crap. We are on a speck of dust orbiting a candle in a sea of flame so vast the human mind is literally incapable of comprehending it. Anything you could possibly do in this life, up to and including wiping humanity off the face off the universe, is competently and utterly insignificant in the cosmic scale of things, even if a wizard did it.

Lord Darkblade -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/18/2013 7:54:03)

Magic is real, just not in this universe as there have been to many wizards.

liamliam1234liam -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/18/2013 9:41:42)

Well, you successfully delegitimised your own argument.

WA, I think you can safely disregard his reasoning.

Lord Darkblade -> RE: UCaG Guide / General UCaG OOC / Welcome/Goodbye (1/18/2013 9:43:55)

Too many wizards in this universe, not over all.
