<------ Answer to my own question! Thanks Death Gigas for the link to the rules.

I am Primal -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 11:42:02)

i think it is against the rules but i personally think it shouldn't.

Basicball -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 11:45:39)

nope, you can't give away accs either

gangster a -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 11:56:54)

whats the point all of your hard work go to waste

Zean Zapple -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 13:41:20)

Thanks Basicball, and wow I keep posting things in the wrong section, something must be up with my computer.

Lord Nub -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 13:48:40)

This is something where you need to look at everything involved.

Is this a friend of yours in real life?

If so there is no issue because noone would know the account was ever traded.

If not and this is someone you met on ED you run into problems. You could very well end up as the victim here because you could put money into and/or time then the "friend" could phone support and supply the original info and get the account back.

The rules implemented are put into place to protect all parties involved and create less support work for the AE team.

Also you should try PMing Cinderella and you will receive the book answer.

@Below,

Also correct but something readers need to understand is that this is part of the scamming process and you could end up being taken advantage of.

Angels Holocaust -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 13:51:41)

Why would you be stupid enough to tell us this? It's like saying I just stole a million dollars from the bank. If you both keep quiet no one would ever know what happened.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 13:53:03)

i believe it is alright to give ur account away to a family member.
like as if u quit ED but ur little brother still plays.
so u pass on the account to him.
i think thats allowed.

Chosen 0ne -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 13:56:21)

^If that is the case, then it would be legal, because you cant give rights to some citizens that are denied to others, either that, or it doesnt apply to a game XD.

Zean Zapple -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:14:53)

@Angels, I am saying it because I want to know if it is allowed. I follow the rules.

Lord Nub -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:25:31)

I believe we need a "General Guidelines" section someplace to better understand the rules.

The main issue is that some would use this to be better informed and find ways around the rules while cheating other players. This is why I say "General."

Obviously all the ins outs and special circumstances will not be posted but some players would like a general idea of what they may and may not do.

Especially those that have much time and money invested in this product. If they were to be suddenly banned because they generally didn't know something was wrong they would be highly upset and may cause problems for AE.

Also just a few problems that could arise from disobeying said rule without educating scammers on a more efficient way to do things. Perhaps try posting definitions of things that are capable of being tracked.

ie.

No dummying - Creating separate accounts to utilize as free wins for another account regardless of ownership.

As far as the "gifting" that is being done within factions. what differentiates a gift from a bribe? A contest from a bribe? I don't believe there is a difference but according to Mods there is.

I posted something similar to this months ago but with so many questions that are raised both in the forums and in game of what is bannable and what is allowable, I feel we need some sort of "Guidelines" section both here and on the homepage.

Not everything must be posted. There are special circumstances which may be explained via phone or however and there are those that also use that to their advantage to get away with things.

This is not to be used as a way to be better informed of ways to get around the rules but a way for players to better understand the rules and have a better gaming experience.

Zean Zapple -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:32:51)

Thanks for your words Lord Nub, I still need some clarification from staff though.

johnny be good -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:34:50)

I would take the account immediately without posting on the forums. You may get in trouble.

Zean Zapple -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:36:17)

^I can't get in trouble, nothing has been done yet i wanted clarification on it's legality according to the rules.

johnny be good -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:39:06)

You should not be worried if u want the account.

The person who gives the account should be worried, because he shares the account.

Zean Zapple -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:40:09)

^I still don't want to be a part of it if it's against the rules.

Can I please have a staff member answer this?

johnny be good -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:41:53)

Send a PM to a mod (who's online) if you want a quick answer.

Zean Zapple -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:42:43)

^I tried an AK, waiting for response.

Lord Nub -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:43:51)

AK's can not give you a straightforward answer.

PM Cinderella as she is the most informed for matters such as these.

Giving away accounts is a definite no no, let alone selling them, even if you change the password etc, you'd still be in the wrong for participating in the taking of the account.

Lock her up!

Death Gigas -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:47:35)

You can find the EpicDuel rules, here

Lord Nub -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 14:50:58)

^ Ah how long has that been there lol.

Anyway I wish it explained things in more detail but I can understand why it does not.

Cinderella -> RE: Account? (11/23/2011 15:55:44)

answered. So, locked.
