Battle Elf -> Rating points leaderboard (12/5/2011 20:48:52)

After looking over the leaderboards for a while, I noticed something, there is nothing about battle tokens/rating points! It seems to me that having a daily token leaderboard or something would make players want to battle more. For example…

All Time Leaderboard: Whoever has the most rating points over all
Daily Leaderboard: Whoever gets the most rating point increase in one day

Just an idea, would love to know what you guys think.
Questions:

1) Would players want to battle more?
2) Would it be fair to old timers who already have most achievements (Could not get very many more rating points in one day)?
3) Would you like to see this feature implemented or not so much?

Thanks, as always you guys are awesome!
Please discuss :D

Well...

If people started competing for rating I think that would suck the life out of its existence.

I mean, if there was someone who was very old with great rating and 10 other players emerged with equal rating in a short time frame the regard and acknowledgement shifts away from our elder players.

Since, ya know, stars stand out being right below your feet in the lobby.

It is nearly impossible to have 90,000 rating points if you haven't been playing since atleast Beta, this way the older players would be praised even more.

Stabilis -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/5/2011 21:20:35)

All time sure

idk if u been to OZ. but there are people there with 100k+ rating points.

Jekyll -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/5/2011 21:32:31)

About the most rating points in 1 day... Wouldn't the older players be short-changed? They cannot buy achievements anymore, since they have bought all, so the newer players can save up and buy all at once.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/5/2011 21:33:42)

@jekyll
another way to get the daily rating points champ is to have all achievements in the shop.
have all of those = get the rating point daily champ.

Jekyll -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/5/2011 21:35:50)

^Good idea, the name of the cheevo should then be changed to Achievement Warrior or something like that.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/5/2011 21:38:42)

@jekyll
lol good thing i haven't bought the achievements from shop then ;)
if this gets implemented i would think of buying them.

InceptionAE -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 2:52:22)

Memory would be no.1 He has over 100k rating.

Edit: I support this idea.

Basicball -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 10:55:22)

we have to many leaderboards as it is already... no need to add more

Battle Elf -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 16:45:53)

@Basicball I disagree when you say
quote:

no need to add more

Leaderboards give players something to strive for, the more leaderboards the more goals you have as a player. I think have lots of goal is one of the best things for a game. That way you want to login and try and be the best.

@Goldslayer1 I'm not denying that people do not have 100,000 rating points, I am saying that is basically impossible to get that many if you have not been playing for some time.

PD -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 16:49:01)

I agree with Battle Elf that the leaderboards in General tend to favor those who have been around the longest rather than on skill or merit.

Battle Elf -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 17:05:56)

I personally like the idea of getting rating points for having the most rating points. Ratingception!

rej -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 18:56:37)

No. a daily rating point leaderboard would be a terible idea.

why? because older players would have no chance to win it. the winners would be rich children/adults who simply buy there way to victory with things such as class masetr, warlord, landlord, master of disguise, artillery master, and a ton of boss npcs.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 19:01:10)

@rej
u realize that those achievements dont even make up 10k?

and boss npcs can be done by non vars -.-

rej -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 19:05:25)

^most of them: yes. bigtuna and Geroge lowe? maybe, if they are incredibly lucky.

and i'm not sure where you learned to count, but according to my math, those achievments in total are worth over 21,000

goldslayer1 -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 19:08:20)

quote:

not sure where u learned to count. but ur listed achievements add up to 8,075 rating points.
like i said npcs can be done by non vars and shouldn't count in the varium list.

rej -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 19:09:45)

^please, read before you post. i clearly said in the same sentence and a ton of boss npcs.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 19:13:22)

@rej
i dont think u understand my reply
quote:

the winners would be rich children/adults who simply buy there way to victory

by that u are assuming that people buy buy victory to NPC achievements. so ur suggestion the boss npc that give achievements are part of varium, when its been proven non vars can get the boss npcs achievement like vars.

the listed achievements i quoted which add up to 8075 are from varium spent achievements. those are by using a varium feature yes, but fighting npcs isn't a varium feature.

rej -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 19:15:10)

^that was a seperate point relating to my more general message that older players would have a lower chance of winning the daily compition. Now please, stop trolling me.

i asume ur talking about daily rating champ.
well idk if u read my reply, but anyone with ALL the achievements (non rare ones) in the achievement shop will automatically get the daily rating champ achievement.

umad?

just kidding lmao, im just trying to help here.

endtime -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 19:59:17)

Completely ridiculous. Adding too many leaderboards doesn't give players something to strive for, it only trivializes the accomplishment of being on a leaderboard. For example, in a school awards ceremony, if 30% of the student population were recognized, then being recognized becomes completely bogus and irrelevant. However, if only a few people people are recognized, then these few people are clearly held in high honor.

nico0las -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/6/2011 20:23:23)

Tokens: Not worth having. The all time 1v1s would lead that as well.
Rating points: It seems possible, but it's just going to be another board that sits there, doing nothing.

Battle Elf -> RE: Rating points leaderboard (12/7/2011 7:19:57)

@rej @goldslayer1

The daily leaderboard would be for whoever got the most additional rating points in one day. (This would be unfair to older players)

The all time leaderboard would be for those who have the most rating points overall. (This would be unfair to newer players)

This way both types of players have goals to work towards. :)
