Sipping Cider -> Only the Elite (1/9/2012 4:42:17)

As a level 34 I find that all my random 1v1 fights are against either varium characters or non-variums with the best gear they can get.

When was the last time you saw one of those random beginners with a sidearm and primary or apprentice staff and maybe an armor.
Also, it is very rare for my opponent to have a bad build now adays.

Now, this is all great news since it means the game is getting easier for people to play and the battles are more intense. Yet I wonder what is the cause of this and what it means is happening.
Are more people donating money?
Is it just that by level 34 most people have got the game down?
Or is it just me?

People are getting sick tired of losing, so many of non varium decide to buy varium since non varium has huge disadvantage. It all stared in gamma at least in beta you had no robots no enhancement. seriously those were days were non varium and varium player had fun.

Gepard Acht -> RE: Only the Elite (1/9/2012 4:57:29)

I thought its better and more fun to play with stronger people than people that cant play?

I am actually quite delighted with harder foes over guys with basic club as you can get more exciting fights , now i find some fun with CH everywhere and count how many time i use emp in battle

I have noticed too that 1v1 sees less under-equipped people as compared to 2v2. I think its because in 2v2, you can depend on/ leech off your partner.

@gepard acht

I agree with you, Im just wondering what the cause of this is.

nico0las -> RE: Only the Elite (1/10/2012 15:49:05)

As the game progresses, players who stay will progress with it. We, for example, the founders, are more often than not masters of the game, skills, pricing and what not. A newbie, on the other hand, wouldn´t know.
The builds the more advanced become widely used simply out of being good. They adapt and change.
Regardless of varium-non varium, there are still good builds out there.

Encumbrance...

SilentWhisper -> RE: Only the Elite (1/10/2012 16:53:15)

I saw some once... but still most i fight are varium players.
I don't know.. there is like the side of varium needing to have an advantage (because if not, why would we even buy it?) and the side of them strong and leaving almost no chance again non-varium people like myself.

I just don't know.. And having enchantments made it kinda worse, but you can't take them because some players already bought varium with it.. taking it would be awful and pretty unfair to those who paid.

Why can't varium only have an advantage on having special varium only places or ITEMS in which are just good looking in comparison to the non-varium items and not stronger.

^Then ED will become a fashion parade like AQW. Not good, not good.

rej -> RE: Only the Elite (1/10/2012 19:34:54)

When was the last time i saw a Non Obviously-Overcharged Person (Abbreviated as NOOB)? Roughly 3 months ago in 1v1.

Midnightsoul -> RE: Only the Elite (1/10/2012 23:40:38)

lol, i ran into some noobs today xD
i got 10 fights outta different ones. what a fortunate event it must be. xD
lol, if i didnt playtoday, the last noob ive seen is about a month ago

BaIllz -> RE: Only the Elite (1/10/2012 23:48:54)

It's like I like free wins, but hate fighting noobs, like challenges, yet don't like losing very much. I think thats how most people feel.

xxmirxx -> RE: Only the Elite (1/11/2012 1:38:03)

Well I believe in getting easy wins if I wanna easy wins I would hard wins I would fight in epic. If your against easy wins then non varium Hell to see people like getting 20k in wins that are non varium. Just shows we got skill were you guys just run buy varium because you can't do good without it.

BaIllz -> RE: Only the Elite (1/11/2012 1:41:38)

Lol... Yea, I could've done fine without varium, but the other game I was playing upset me and wouldn't let me buy there're

preimium shop currency.(Some reason my purchase failed 3 times, yet it still charged me 300$).

So I decided to spend 50$ on here to make them mad. :P

I hate playing 2v2 nowadays. Filled with leeches who come in with no armor at all, basic weapons, etc. Sickening.

Nowadays thats always happen it was worst before in beta.

Digital X -> RE: Only the Elite (1/11/2012 2:58:19)

I do agree with OP, i tend to fight my enemiess are either full Varium, or totally non but with the best gear available at their given level, or what is currently available to them. I mainly encounter this on Epic, though, whereas as Exile tends to be less Varium players, but nonetheless of a challenge upon fighting them.

Goony -> RE: Only the Elite (1/11/2012 3:54:20)

Blame Hudelf, he did some modifications to the battle engine to enable a better matching system ;)

All good as far as I'm concerned. Since the engine searches for battles based on location if you want tough battles goto OZ world 7. If you want quick fights world zero near a junker ;)

Could this really be so? Location matters? Well that's interesting, as well as the fact that it sounds like hudelf made it so battles are more equal and thus more challenging.
