Stabilis -> Planning Features With Us (1/10/2012 16:38:25)

January 10th, 2012. As of yet, the latest feature instalment to ED is the Frysteland War. This event was conspiratorially devised within the game staff alone. {I don't think I have to state the roles of the programmers and designers for your needs} For the war, Cinderella mentioned being responsible for the story-plot but I am assuming that team balance would be responsible for playability of the event, while people like Titan and Nightwraith rooted out a base for this specific system. The Frysteland War was in no exceptional way involved with us the player-base augmenting how the event would be played through. In your own thoughts, how and why should we players be contributing to additions of ED in features and events? This will be a discussion. -- For me, I would have to say that the players are a recommended source of creativity for future gaming events simply because of how broad this community really is... and having our vast experience of the game so that we can be trusted with balance. If and when a new in-game event occurs, we the players should be taking in stride, responsibility for at least 10% of the content that will be released. I understand that the programmers are a very close group who can handle problems themselves, but its when someone does not anticipate an problem, like when the anti-matter bombs could be used at will to gain points only influenced by financial expense. Well, if the programmers will trust the players to contribute thoughtful pieces, I'm sure we could forge an event everyone will enjoy. Thanks for your time.
