Remorse -> RE: Bring us out of the dark! (2/16/2012 2:54:18)

^
What you just said makes alot of sence.

When I put myslef in the devs position I can see why Comments on particlar comments are not made.

However It still unfortunately leaves an empty hole in the players mind and that is "are these probelms even getting noticed??"

So perhaps as an idea, There could be a PERMA LOCKED thread explaining the devs position on all popular topics.

For example:

=ED= The Dev's position Thread.
NOTE: These positions ARE not upcomming releases just what we might expect to be influcneing decesions for future updates.

Non variums:
Hoping to reduce the gap between variums and non variums by releasing more powerful non varium wepins.

Balance:
Hoping to equal the classes: Tech mage and Mercenary.

Prices:
Nutural stance, Price cuts are not to be expected.

New features:
Wars- Hoping to incorporate PVP into future wars.
Housing- Hoping to make them more useful.

ETC.!

Obviolsy this is an example by which are My opinions of the devs stance NOT my opinons on these topics.

Keep in mind something like this may go agianst what was said above BUT on the otherhand it will stop frusteration and anger of the unkown amongst the players.

Remorse.

That just becomes something we have to maintain, and simply by maintaining a dialog with you guys you should be able to know our stances on various things.

Can't keep a list of planned features because they change constantly, get dropped, lose priority to something more important, etc. Just makes people upset when a feature doesn't get done after we put it on a list of things we said we're working on. While I think open dialog with players is very important, there are some things which are just better left as surprises :)

^ I understand and aknowledge the reasons why and I agree that most things should be left to suprise.

But I will add one thing you can choose to ignore it or accept it.

Players pateince is wearing very thin in many aspects of the game and I belive the main reason why Is a lack of understanding on where the devs stances are.

You say we should know what you guys stand for and thats exactly it, we have to predict everything, we have to assume that the changes we want are in the same mind of the devs, maybe if it was clear what you guys were aiming for then perhaps people could make a valuable stand before it happens and AVOID major frusteration, its a bit hard to make a reasonable contribution as a group to the changes that are made if they suddenly just occur out of the blue like many changes, a couple of the top of my head are: not being able to sell promos during its stime active, many suprising often unnecesay balance changes like support no longer increasing deflection rather technology.

Im just remiding this because I can see the obvious relation between communication lacking and angry players.

Yes having to contantly remind players of what you guys think would be a pain and perhaps hard work and its possible it would lead to players wanting those changes ASAP.
But the alternative is we no nothing and therefore we have no understanding of if we think the game is gonna get better or worse which in turn leads to players frusteration, we are cuaght between are they gonna fix the game already?? or are they not??? it's extremly frusterating and I can understand why many players have acted inapropraitely over it.

I hope honestly that eventually you guys get respect from the players as you deserve,
This is just my suegtion coming from one of the often frusterated players.
Good luck, Remorse Less.

Going back to your plane theory, look at it from the devs' point of view:

The plane is trying to take off, but there are obstacles that aren't entirely their fault,
for example when we had that Flash Player problem. The passengers are getting irritated and refuse to
accept that perhaps it isn't the pilot's fault. Now, the pilot can choose to either shut up the passengers and figure things out
without further interruption (which isn't really an option), or they could waste time addressing the players along with the issues
which will take twice as long.

Long story short, don't pin the fault on the team when we are equally at fault. Patience is a virtue. I agree that sometimes it's...
difficult to wait, what with the constant problems, but we don't really have an option.
