@Question Mark:Interesting, your characters are very...cryptic. Clear explanation/backstory? Sure. Here's an EXTREMELY brief backstory of each one. I'm still working on really long ones for each of them, but I don't want to post them until they're done. Lord Thursday: Born an Orphan. Adopted from orphanage by organized criminals. Utilized as an asset for their work. Treated as a member of a family, albeit not a particularly good one. Seized by police. Thursday forcefully inducted into society. Works hard and learns quickly, but society is more painful for him than the mob. Teased, bullied, overall nasty childhood. Works himself into a major scientific corporation. (The Center for Alternate Reality Experimentation) Quickly becomes the head of C.A.R.E. Initiates exploration expeditions, to be tested secretly for fear of public backlash. Comes in contact with the voices of the Elder Gods whilst traveling betwixt realities. Comes back... changed. Expedition postponed, full details never released. The seething of their speech permeates him, and transforms what was once Dissociative Identity Disorder into madness. Thursday no longer believes that he is in control of his actions, and that his every thought is screened by the Elder Gods. Kills 7 people. Arrested, jailed, and nearly sentenced to death. Escapes upon a technicality. Tries his best to find somewhere, something, that won't hurt him. Marries another scientist. Wife dies in labor. Frightened of what he might do to the child, Thursday leaves her alone. Moves to Liberty City. Whispers become stronger. Alternate personalities take over, and Thursday attempts to activate the BLAPK SUN, a semi-solid-semi-sentient-white-hole-thingy from which the voices of the Elder Gods spring. Lots of Crazy Stuff happens. Someone eats the BLAPK SUN. Part of the Eldritch Umbilical Cord that attached Thursday to his dark masters remains lodged inside of him. His mind begins to be crazy and stuff. He begins to function coherently for the fist time in years. He becomes The Ringmaster, and under Professor Pythagoras' control, puts on a mysterious and highly symbolic show for the other super-persons, at the end of which he drugs and kidnaps Lady Zafara, and traps all of them in the middle of the Bering Strait without their powers, and at the same time having to rescue Zafara and escape without being eaten by the Lurker Down Below. They get saved by Scarekrow. Pythagoras hauls Thursday off for experimentation. He escapes. He is cut off from his alternate personalities and also the Elder Gods. Lost and confused, he accidentally summons a mopey, highly existential Demi-Power named Jack. He hides the portion of the cord somewhere. The planetary alignment provides him with the ability to once again converse with his masters, and to sense and devour madness. Known personalities include: tHe ReD kNiGhT,The General, and Tragedy. Thursday's relationship with the Elder Gods has also left him with a strong desire to be dominated and abused. Professor Pythagoras: Pythagoras is a wealthy older gentleman with dapper attire, a great deal of intelligence, great public standing, and access to insane technology, which he utilizes to finance his experiments realting to Human Puppetry, which is essentially body control. He managed to pull the wool over the eyes of nearly every one here at one point, and he possesses a small army of masked minions. (His masks are known for housing puppetry electrodes.) He is also the sponsor and/or architect of most of the new public buildings in the city. Some say that he's actually an alien, or that he secretly runs the city, but that would be stupid. The Professor never lies. The Candyman: The Candyman is a U.N. Peacekeeper brought in to inspect one of Pythagoras' newest projects. He is opposed to violence, but has very interesting ideas regarding reconstruction of society and is not afraid to bust some heads to get things rolling. Nothing is currently known about his powers or history.
