Howdy yall! I haven't done Design Notes in a while, and these ones seem rather poorly timed given all of the other DNs recently. But it's rather important that I emphasize this event because it is, in fact, important. Very important.
The name of this release pretty much tells you exactly what this event will be. It is, in many ways, "the breaking point".
The phrase itself has been used many times in the past as a term that refers to some point in time at which one's efforts do not meet with their expectations to such a degree that it causes enough frustration for the person to give up. In other words, it's the point at which you crack under pressure, the point at which most people would give up and lose all hope. For Lore, that time might just be right around the corner, as the entire world faces off against incredible odds and a threat from beyond the boundaries of the universe itself.
This release also "breaks" many people's misconceptions and expectations about the storyline thus far. I have fielded complaints that the SeekRat does not seem to be a credible threat, nor does he appear as intelligent as he's suggested to be. How could such a bumbling fool be a threat, they say? This week will dismiss these assertions.
Everything he has done up until this point has been a distraction, a scent to throw you off of his trail. Events have played perfectly into his claws, whether you realize it or not, and this Thursday, his true plans will finally be revealed. And no matter what the outcome, Lore will never be the same again.
