When you access your inventory; you can select a button, then make an item unsellable, unless you type in a security password, different from your login password.

This way, you can make it so only you can sell your stuff.

Thoughts?

The problem is that so-called scammers are really just players that were given the account information voluntarily from the account owner. The account owner was just naive enough to not realize that one day, their friend could get annoyed and log onto their account and sell everything off. This is the reason, 99% of the time, why players are "scammed".

@Friend18 I would like to think you are correct but the shear number of scammers I have reported in game tells me otherwise. I've only had my friend ask for my account info once but I've reported a healthy number of scammers.

Now as for the suggestion unless the code is so set up that you physically cannot use your master account information as your password my guess is a lot of players will set both passwords the same other then that i like the idea

Well for those types of scammers, you REALLY have to be naive enough to fall for their tactics :/ I do report those scammers too, but if you ever check Facebook (where players post a ton of info about stuff like bugs etc. that SHOULD be posted in the bugs section), most of them have been scammed by their own friends...

Oh well. It is a good idea though. However, if someone else gets on the account and sets the password, that's another problem too XD

We only need a better report system where reports get read at all.
I think that most of the reports does not get read.

I met a player who used a new trick for the intention to win the battle
by distracting the opponent in offering his account and saying that he
wanted to quit ED. Because account sharing is not allowed a report
could get such players banned (after a warning).. if the report gets read.

There should be much more options for reports because three categories
are just not enough.

As an anti scammer tool the staff could implement a second password
that could (only) be used to reset the login name and password and sending
an email with the new login name and password to the registered user.
I think thats also the purpose of the AE master account.

Friend, most of the time the "Scammer's" is the "Want free Varium?" scam, usually not even in good English most of the time, this sound's like a good idea. But not sure how they'd even begin to add this to be honest.
